Awesome! Thanks for the pics. I think I have no choice but to trade my skyland for one of those babies. Was the price still $4550?

Looks nice, but I still like the white stencil numbers and hands on the Avenger Skyland I have. I like the silver and wonder what some nice silver Batons might look like as well? Thanks for posting the pictures!

Hmmm...still really nice, but I kind of think it takes away from the sort of "military" look. It's a good idea, but I think the white stencilled numbers gave it a uniqueness.
At least with the white numbers, the date background didn't stand out so much. My pet peeve once again - why all of the calendar/date backgrounds have to be white, regardless of the dial colour. There just seems to be an obsession that every watch has to have a date, and almost every watch has to have the hideous (IMHO) white background on it. That is one of the very reasons I am so taken with the Omega Aqua Terra 8500 - that I am picking up tomorrow, yipppeeee!, even got a day off work - Omega has done such a beautiful job blending the date in with the rest of the dial and the markers.
I saw a Hamilton, I believe the name is Khaki, a chronograph with a beautiful sort of khaki green dial the other day. It was absolutely spoiled, at least to me, with the white date box once again.
Another reason that I am so fond of the Blackbird, at least the date background matches the dial.
I believe that there is a separate post for rants....maybe this should be in that one?
Anway, I am going out to celebrate the picking up of my new watch tomorrow. I will post pics of the new Omega.
Cheers,
Carl

I gotta say that I prefer the existing Skyland model with white numerals.

This now just looks like a poor mans (poor in wrist size mostly) Super Avenger.

Pretty cool.
I'm continually amazed at how such a (seemingly) small detail can change the look of a watch.

I'm not a fan of the stenciled numbers, but I do think that the point of them was the military look, and the silver takes away from that. In fact the silver stencil numbers are starting to look a bit to much like a fashion watch instead of a tool watch IMHO.

The price was jacked up a bit from the old AS price but sorry cant remember exactly.

Just to be clear i do believe that this watch is now called the 'Avenger'. No 'Skyland' in the name anymore.

I personally liked the new look, but it does reduce the amazing legibility that the original had since the contrast is softened.

Batons would be nice but i agree that B-ling should keep certain watches unique and save some traits only for those watches/series.

Beautiful!!!! A blue dial is sure to arrive.
Still miss a day-date option though... 8)
Maybe the new Pilot bracelet (Chronomat B01) will fit too... A clasp with a double pusher (a la Ocean Racer) would be fine!
Best regards: Robertus

Hi I'm new here. With the introduction of this new silver font dial, will Breitling completely discontinue the white font versions? I hope this is not true as I had my heart set on purchasing a black dial white font Skyland next month. There is also a La Swiss in my area but it's been a few months since I last paid them a visit. I hope they still have them available or at least up for order. :(

Like a few of you, I preferred the white numerals, they seem a better fit for this watch.

Starting with the introduction of the SA Blacksteel, Breitling certainly seems to be trying to blur the ground between the AS (or just A now?) and the SA.

Funny thing: as I look at this post again for the second time this evening, it seems to me that the new look is almost dated already. It strikes me that they should have started this model with the silver numbers, then changed to white a couple of years later when they updated. Still a great looking watch, though.
The new look may also make the older AS more valuable as a collector's item.
Cheers,
Carl

Its certainly possible since it had such a short lifespan. At first I was sure there would be no changes since its such a new model...but, I was obviously wrong.
