Hi guys,

I've had to send to match into BUSA several times over the last six months, as they've done faulty repairs. I received it back for the third time today, only to discover that they almost completely removed the serial number on the case back during polishing.

Is this something I should make a big deal out of, and is there even anything that can be done about this?

Thanks!

That would make me concerned about re-sale value. It could make someone feel it's questionable. I don't see a reason why they can't re-engrave it.

I had a serial number re-engraved by Breitling UK a few years ago. It was done whilst the watch was being serviced and they didn't charge for it.

Thanks for the responses. They are offering to re-engrave it. How did it turn out when they did yours?

Just as the original serial, I presume. The serial number was worn when purchased secondhand for my daughter. When I visited the Breitling service centre at Tunbridge Wells a few years ago, I was taken to the polishing section. The staff there said that they avoid polishing the serial / model numbers as much as possible.

Thanks for the response. From what I can tell from looking at forums throughout the internet for Breitling and other brands, some have complained that when the watch is re-engraved, it comes out looking quite shoddy looking.
