BTW, that new Bentley is hideous. Still, 3 out of 4 that we've seen so far are winners IMO.

I have to say I really didn't expect a larger Navi. An in-house Navi World, sure, but not a larger Navi. And I have to say I'm really glad they did as it gives us larger watch fans a chance to own an iconic piece, but in a decent size. I'm very pleased!

I can easily see my 4 remaining Breitlings being sacrificed for the Navi 46mm when it hits the shops.

Perfectly said all the way around. After the announcement of the Bentley 6.75 Midnight Carbon I didn't think it could get worse. They proved me wrong. I would go with the Navi GMT though

I'm there with you :). Wish they made the all silver dial on the 46mm, so now I will probably opt out for the black dial. Never been a fan of the blue dial.

Darth Vader called....he wants his timepiece back.

And that Transocean Boutique model is....an abomination. Looks like someone puked up key lime pie all over the regular model.

The moment I saw the Chronomat Airborne I laughed. It really looks like it's designed by the members from Breitlingsource! No more Buck Rogers, no more centre square, back to rider tabs. Now you people... you have got what you want, you better start preparing your money and call your ADs to place your orders...whoever don't buy Breitling CEO will come knocking on yr doors to kick your butts! LOL....

The way Breitling tries to make this Chronomat as "Breitling" and traditional as possible is commendable. If I had not known anything about Breitling, there might be certain features that I don't like. I am not a fan of yellow lume and yellow sub-dials/dial, but because I am a Breitling fan, I welcome that on this new "old Chronomat", and understands that they adopted yellow because it's Breitling's signature color. Even though they are not able to position the date at 3 o'clock due to the new in-house sub-dials layout, they highlighted the border of the date window until it looks like the old Evo date window. They have also adopted very very safe fonts on the entire watch this time round to emphasize the intention of traditional aesthetics of the piece. Best of all they produced a same 41 version also to cater to the smaller wrists. I think it's a good gesture. Actually I like polished hour markers and would prefer the lume to be just at the end like the Chronomat 44. But again I also appreciate the lumes on the entire hour markers(except the left & right borders) to provide better legibility in the dark.

The only thing that worries me is the rider tabs. Does anyone knows if the rider tabs are rubber inserts or are they imprinted on the bezel? Because on photo they don't seemed engraved and rubber inserted but looks more like imprinted on the bezel. If imprinted not sure if they would fade or scratched off if knocked. If they are not done properly they can cheapen the look of the entire watch. Personally I would prefer them to be engraved and not rubber inserted, like the old Evo, even though I understand that Breitling wants to increase the legibility of the rider tabs.

If I had not gotten my B01 LE, would I buy this Chronomat? Personally no for me.... I think it looks nice on photo, but most likely might not look good on my wrist, due to the color combo and some features that won't look good on me. But I appreciate every detail on the piece that closely relates its intention of its birth and I think it will still look good on many. Overall I think it's a winner and will gain the likes of many old Breitling fans. No intentions of buying it doesn't stop me from going to the boutique to try it on when it's here! Oh btw...if there is one major fault on this piece, it will be a lack of sapphire caseback...real pity..and the black on the rider tabs, whether they are imprinted or rubber inserted.

The main attraction on these new pieces for me is the new Navi 01(46mm). I love the fact that they have retained the entire aesthetics of the piece and best of all, add a sapphire caseback! The engraving on the caseback is gorgeous, and now my wallet is danger:( however I don't think my wrist can carry off the size:( if only they can add the sapphire caseback to the smaller Navi 01:(

Things are looking good for Breitling IMHO. More choices and more retention of aesthetics. Even though this special edition Chronomat has more obvious aesthetic changes as compared to the Chronomat 44/41, they are after all revival of the older versions and not really considered change, especially when the current Chronomat 44/41 are still retained. They both look pretty much the same overall anyway and recognizable in the Chronomat family. That's the consistency that I want.

Seems like a fairy tale with happy ending.. This has got to be the best Basel ever!!!!

Any pricing/availability known for the new 46mm Navitimer??

Way too early for that kind of information. Baselworld's not even started yet.

In Hong Kong, HKD 72,880 on calf leather strap, tang buckle acording to the web site details.
That is just a tad shy of 10K in real Dollars.

That's got to be either DLC or something with the artist's rendering, right? I'm not sure how they could engineer rubber inserts to the bezel in that fashion.

If it's DLC, my guess would be if they roll this bezel out on the Chronomat line they'll adjust the design accordingly....in other words the 'black' hash marks wouldn't be a standard feature.

I actually thinks that it looks quite subtle. Would need to see the real watch rather than renderings, but I quite like the colour.

They do it already on the Frecce Tricolori Chronomat -the Buck font on that one's bezel are rubber inserts.

At first it looked like inserts, but at an angle it could be just the shadow.. If it doesn't have them then it would be a winner for me for sure!

I actually really like the blue dial available on the 46mm Navi 01. I liked how the Blue Sky LE looked but I've always thought Navi 01 case was a bit small for me. The Navi GMT is too big for me so it doesn't matter but the white dial looks best in my opinion for that model. If both the larger Navi 01 and GMT were in a 44mm case, I think they would sell a lot easier.

The Chronomat Airborne in 41mm with the white dial really appeals to me. I like it on the bracelet better but I still probably won't be picking one up anytime soon.

Not a huge fan of the TO Chrono boutique edition but would be curious how it looks in real life.
