Have been doing quite a bit of model research lately, as some of you know; now I am trying to document some of the pieces I consider important (might come handy with that container, Roff  ), you might like this one.

I am quite often asked which of my Breitlings I like most, impossible to answer, of course - but this would certainly be among them; for me maybe the most perfectly balanced and beautiful early bicompax Breitling - or anyBrand chronograph.

Tried to get I a bit of provenance after I acquired this one, it came from the estate of an Idaho pediatrician; crazed and slightly cracked crystal, mounted on a pigskin Bund strap, described as "probably gold plated", surprisingly; seller never took it off that strap or opened the caseback - imagine my elation when Craig sent me the first dial & caseback pics. Collecting can be great fun.

Serial number is before the documented period, would assume it was manufactured in 1942 or 1943; so just turned 70. not so bad.

The dial changes color hues in different lighting conditions; from champagne to gold, to rosè and sometimes orange, quite lovely; applied indices add to that; case is very similar to the mid 1940s Datora 784/785.

A bit pic heavy, as I can never decide which one I like best; hope you'll bear with me ?

Absoultely stunning watch Fred, the strap too goes very well on it. Love the gold indices, means no worries about lume flaking et al. I see your photography has been improving heaps, what camera?

Btw would love to see your documentation of these iconic watches, coming soon?

Missed this yesterday as I was in the car for a lot of the day. Very nice piece Fred, and exceptional condition. I'm also rather partial to the table!

Wow, didn't know the iphone could take such good pics, use any image app or just straight images?
Very tasty watch!

I just acquired a similar vintage watch. 503111 and 760 appear on the exterior of the back cover. Serial number and ref. (?). It also has the number 132 on the inside of the cover . Does anybody know what the 132 signifies?
