I never thought id be an iphone hype monkey, but im actually pretty excited. The iphone 4 was my first, and I always thought these gushing iphone users were a bunch of idiots. Then I got one, and I absolutely love it.

Im not a fan of the larger size, but being thinner and lighter should hopefully make it seem smaller.

I hope availability isnt a major issue, since id like to get one asap.

Anybody else excited about it?

Not me. I'll just wait for the 19th and download OSi 6 on my 4S. This phone is only 6th months old for Pete sake. And I like the size just fine. I am looking forward to the operating software additions, especially making Siri more than a novelty and a real navigation system, which I don't need because the first app I downloaded a year ago when I went from droid to the iPhone 4 was the full Garmin app. The iPhone navigation was terrible, even Verizon's VG Navigator was better. But the Garmin app is as complete and functional as a full size Garmin system. Now I can decide which one I like better come the 19th.

Not yet, I have a 4 and when my good lady upgrades to the 5 I'll have her 4S. I love the iPhone and would find it hard to go back to a 'normal' mobile. Have looked at other smart phones but haven't found one that I like as much as the Apple. Hype or not, it's a great piece of kit.

Keeping my HTC Rezound. Same resolution with bigger screen. Doesn't feel like it will fall apart with a single drop like a Samsung. Got the extra length battery so it has life nearly the same length of charge as a Droid Maxx. Besides, I have the best of both worlds. My wife uses Siri on her iphone to find the closest location. We use my phone to navigate to it.

I'll be getting one. My 4 will passed on to either my wife, or if she decides to stick with windows phone then to my parents who are using my iphone 3 (not even 3gs).

Does anyone know if this new one is going to be on 4G network, I have a android now which is 4G network with Verizon wireless, before they announced the release of this new apple, I told the salesman at verizon I was thinking of getting the apple iPhone next and he said, why would you want to downgrade because it not 4G yet. I'm hoping this new one is on the 4G network

Will be 4G here in Australia :-)

I'll be getting the black version.

Good news also is that the phone speaks american, british and australian! http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/ga ... 81?page=15
Although here in aus we'll be paying double the US price based on this slide http://www.theaustralian.com.au/news/ga ... 613?page=9 ... even though our dollar is worth more!

Hmmm...

besides the bigger screen and 4g capability, there really isn't anything my 4s can't do that the 5 can. Facetime over data network? Check. Siri to open apps? Check. Panoramic camera? Could do it but didn't.

How? One word. Jailbreak. :cheer:

Push comes to shove... just being unbiased. All this stuff was and is capable on the 4/4s. Apple just refused to release it officially so they can release it in a new model.

I still love my iphone though.

Yeah for all intents and purposes, once I download the 6 operating system, I have an iPhone 5. What's the point of getting the 5? Not enough there to justify it for me.

I'll probably get it and sell my 4S on eBay. I don't care about the screen but the quad core CPU and substantially faster network speeds will make my life easier. Also, a 4S on eBay brings in almost as much as buying a 5 outright

I'll be preordering. I like the way that my last few iPhones have been and I'm really looking forward to this one. I'm coming from the iPhone 4, two years is a nice schedule to upgrade. The new faster processor, bigger screen (but not gigantic), better camera, Thinner, lighter, real 4g LTE etc. are all solid reasons to upgrade. I'm also opting for the 64 gb, so more memory as well. I'm pumped to say the least.

I'll get one but I'm not happy about the new connector. All the other "i" devices I have use the old style. It'll be a hassle.
