If you find yourself going for that dress PP let me know! We can at least keep the Datora in Oz.

What a beautiful watch. My dream. It doesn't even register on the 'clangometer'. Very tasteful.

No you don't get my meaning, we're wounded! It's tasteful. yes, tastefui. Gorgeous even. So, what's it doing here? This is the Breitling forum, the Box of Bling, the Castle of Clank, and that 'thing' you call a 1946 Datora Valjoux 72C Triple date 785, will never do. I know it's a Breitling, so it's extra hard on you to say it, and I'm sure you'll man-up in time, but you sad, sad man, you just don't get it, do you?

Do you realsie what you've done, the seriousness? The 'clangometer' is a sensitive precision instrument but your 'thing' may not even get a reading.

I'm taking you to task here:

1. Where is the enormous bracelet?
2. Why is it not a Chronogay?
3. Did the diamonds fall off?
4. Have you lost its UTC?
5. Why is the dial not flourescant orange?
6. Where is the emergency beacon?
7. Why are there not pix of you wearing a Breitling branded baseball cap and T-shirt with it.

This 'thing' is blasphemous, filth. A example of Clang wrongness. A gangsta(sic) rapper wouldn't be seen dead wearing it. Hold your in head in shame.

I'll let you off, on one condition... write 100 times:

"I must buy a diamond studded orange-face chronogay"
"I must buy a diamond studded orange-face chronogay"
"I must buy a diamond studded orange-face chronogay"

etc etc

And then tootle off and buy one. By the fires of Hades, you have been told.

Clangmessiah signing off.

Lol, yours a funny post, had a hard chuckle,
must admit the Datora is not very Breitlingish in the way you expect it to be:). But hell no, am surely proud it's a Breitling, leaving that out in the subjectline was unintentional!

You can't go yet, I havn't finished with you by a long chalk.

I fear for you, the outcome may be damaging, but I'm sorry, needs must, and besides, you asked for this... bring on the 'Clangometer'.

Give me a minute...

The reading is coming back now...

It says 1%.

Just as I thought, your 'thing' has failed, whatever I do the 'Clangometer' gives no higher than 1%. It should go 'Clang' but not a tinkle does it give. Not even one tinkle. You B**TARD you've broken it.

See what I mean, you're a failure.

Hold on... no hang on... it has just Clanged... er, false alarm, it was the my chronogay in the way.

No the verdict stands, take it away.

You Loser.

What are you?

No, not the only one - I'm getting PMs as well. There appears to be a consensus of the entire community minus BrightlingWalt that they have already heard way more than they want of the Clangometer et al.

OK, nuff said, I'll put the 'clangometer' back in the cupboard.

I was in the jewellery trade a few years back and the clang-factior was always an in-joke, and was quietly kept there for obvious reasons. Maybe it should stay there, here too. Jeeeez... we sold some higlhly priced, tasteless things. In fact in the UK, a certain Mr Gerald Ratner lost a large part of his jewellery empire when an off-the-cuff remark about what he was actually was selling, came out.

I suspect this brand of near-the-mark joshing, might be more for older guys, owners of classic & vintage Brights and the more self-aware gangsta watch wearing users. As i said, back in the cupboard.

I think that you will find that with an international, multi-cultural community the use of phrasing that can be misinterpreted or may offend certain groups is best avoided along with jokes that are really only meaningful to you. This is a large group of people who are welcoming of newcomers but spending a little bit of time learing how the group interacts, getting used to some of the personalities, etc is always a good idea rather than exposing what you must be aware is a less mainstream personality / turn of phrase.

Causing moderators to get a whole host of PMs about "the weird new guy" is probably not how you want to start your time at BreitlingSource.
