Hey guys,

Is it ok to keep the chronograph running non stop? From my knowledge it's ok, but I was reading a Zenith user manual for a watch using their world famous El Primero movement that recommended the chronograph only be used for it's purpose, and not non stop. I keep mine running non stop on my Blackbird not only because it looks "cool", but also keeps the oil cranking with the mechanisms to prevent any dry up. Your input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks guys!

It will cause a little more wear, but not material. It will also reduce the power reserve, but that's not an issue if the watch is a daily wearer (or on a winder). There's little practical impact.

along these lines, is it okay to "park" the chronograph hand at something other than the 12 o'clock for extended periods of time.

thanks,
