Just got back from picking it up. Dearly beloved wants it to be a Christmas present so detailed impressions will have to wait a few weeks, but I am very pleased with what I have seen. The dial is very refined and precise and I really like the contrast between the white of the slide rule and the silver of the subdials.

I love the engraving of the LE number on the case side and hope that is a sign of things to come. The display back is very well done and gives a nice view of the in house movement. As always with automatics a smaller rotor would have helped to see the movement, but I am delighted that Breitling finally did produce an automatic DB. They had a Chronomat LE there as well so I could compare side by side, and I definitely made the right choice for me.

It's been a while since my last new Breitling, but this is a very welcome addition. :lingsrock:

Congrats, Roff. It's a shame you have to wait until Christmas to wear it, but if there ever was a piece worth the wait, it's this one.

I didn't realize the subs were silver. I need to go back and take a closer look at the pics that Bronco posted. Having three different colors on the dial doesn't sound appealing to me on paper, but it obviously can't be that bad, as I'm smitten with the Navi 01.

It's not a marked contrast - the sliderule is white, the subdials are more of a 'silvered white', likely related to the epargne process used on the dial. They seem (to me) to complement one another well.

To Driver8's point a black date wheel would have been nice, but then the red date wouldn't have worked so well.

Craig,

I wouldn't get too worried about the sub dials. Roff is right that they aren't 100% the same color as the outer ring, but the difference is very subtle. If fact I didnt realy notice it until Roff said something. I guess I am blinded by my love of this watch.

A little funny thing about this watch, for me, is that everyday when I get home I take off the Steelfish and immediately go get the new Navi 01 LE out of the safe and strap it on. I like it that much. I haven't EVER done this with the other watches. I only wish I had a job where I could wear it during the day, but then I wouldn't get anything done... except staring at the watch!

Just the head is $7315 USD. Actual prices paid is between you and your AD. Admittedly I didn't pay full price, but I didn't get my usual 20-22% discount either. My AD says they only get one or two of the limited editions and they are swamped with requests for they. Generaly they don't discount the LEs at all. I reserved this one before they even knew it was coming. When I went to get it, the AD said there were 3 other people wanting it and this was the only one they have received so far.
I know I should have gone through Goverberg or FEARs connection (and probably gotten a better deal) but its hard to build a relationship with a semi local AD that way.

Great point Bronco. If you want to buy mostly new watches I think this is a must. There really isn't anything that can beat a great relationship with a local guy. :woohoo:

Canadian list is $7325 for the head, $1400 for the Navi bracelet that I took with it.

As BroncoSport says you have to negotiate your own real price. I got what I consider to be a very good price, but I may not be a typical buyer

Hey Roff, did you mention what number LE you received?

I got 285. When it was ordered the order specifically requested the lowest available, but unfortunately the Canadian distributor had not pre-ordered any pieces so the order had to go as an individual customer order to Breitling SA and all lower numbers had either been assigned to national distributors or reserved / not issued by Breitling.

Hey Bronco,

What are your thoughts on the navitimer now that you've had it for a few days? Any issues, any thing you like or don't like that you didn't expect?

I got the call from my AD this morning! My Navi 01 has finally arrived. However, my AD needs to order a short deployant, which will take a couple days. I'm hoping to have it next week sometime. I'm going to switch it up and do my Navi a little differently than others have. I'm putting mine on a black croc. Naturally, I'll post pictures as soon as I get it.

Also, my LE number is pretty high. I don't recall exactly, but it's 1,375 or something.

Thats great Craig. Get the pictures, review and impressions as soon as you can. I am still in love with mine and still switch to it every evening after my manual labor job! :lingsrock:

No real issues from me. The only, very very, minor thing with mine is that if you wanted to get out the digital calipers... the chrono hand isn't 100% inline with the point of the slide rule arrow (at 12). I mean it is so close that you really have to have spent hours staring at it to notice! (less than a millimeter, but who notices things like this!) :) It is really not off enough to send it in....yet. Maybe after the new wears off I might get nit picky but for now I am NOT being without this watch.

This is my favorite watch and if I was to have to pick just one to keep, this would be it. In fact, because of the in house movement, limited edition status and display back... I feel like the rest of my collection's status has been drastically reduced. I will likely be changing things up and upgrading the collection to this or higher standards.

The dial printing process created a super crisp dial. The red chrono hand looks absolutely awesome in motion, across the black dial. The red date wheel is a dark red and it certain light looks black at a glance. I actually like the white date wheel. I use the date function on my watches all the time and this combo makes it really readable.

The size is just right and the profile thickness allows it to easily slip under a dress shirt.

My wife just shakes her head when she sees me holding the watch and studying every thing about it.

One kinda cool and surprising thing I discovered is that the movement has the serial number engraved on it, just like the caseback. I didnt know that they engraved serial numbers on movements to match.

So, yes I still love it and am so glad that 1) Breitling listened to the WIS and made this and 2) I bought one!!

They always have (at least in recent years), remember that the COSC cert (which contains the serial number) is issued to the movement, the watch then assumes that serial number as well.

I have some GREAT relationships with my customers from here. I get probably 20-30 emails or pm daily. Some of them I talk to every day. Just finished sending out holidays gifts to them all. It's a digital age, it's amazing how much can be accomplished via email.

That being said, on these limiteds its hard to get huge discounts, we get so few per store, they aren't likely to give them away for more than 15 back tops.
If it sits fir a while, maybe. But not navi b01, not yet
