Now that's a GREAT Breitling! As much as I have criticized Breitling in the past year, I have to give it up to them for producing such an excellent time piece that is obviously geared towards traditional collectors! Well done Breitling!

Personally, I wish it did not have the red accents and was a couple of MMs larger, but that is subjective and the current design is a great compromise, classical but with a bit of flair and a size that is reasonable to all! I plan to get one if I can get my hands on one at a reasonable price.

Now lets hope they apply the same design formula to the Navitimer World!!

Love it. I'm so glad that they resisted the urge to change it.

The one extra thing that i would like to see on it would be

Edition Limitee or Limited Edition

above the 6 o'clock subdial

I prefer the way they did it with the beautiful and subtle engraving of the specific number on the side. Adding the notation to the dial is unnecessary IMHO. I also like the applied 18K white (or red) gold wings logo to the dial. The red sweep hand and date font are nice touches and the display back is exceptionally well done. The new movement is gorgeous even with a rotor obscuring half of it until the piece is moved. I really love the fact that the "quickset" date complication is available again as it was on the caliber 13 Navi's. All in all, this piece is undeniably the most exciting "new" model Breitling has introduced in over a decade. I suspect many enthusiasts will snag this beauty AND one of the LE display back B01 Chronomats as well. Heck, two new display back B's could comprise a wonderful collection!!! :lingsrock:
Best,
Ron

I'm really pleased Breitling is finally coming out with the watch we've all been asking for. However, I'm a bit irked they're deciding to put display backs on all the new offerings. I feel the original B01 should have had a display back. Once again, Breitling has cheapened my B01 just a little bit more . . .

In all honestly, I think this new Navi should have been the first watch to carry the B01 movement, though.

I agree that the DB made more sense for the first examples - and those of us who were here speculating what the B01 would be like were screaming for just such a move.

I sort of understand why the Navitimer didn't come first (from Breitling's perspective) - they clearly wanted to a attract new people to the brand and that's easier where you don't have to stay so true to an iconic design as would be the case with a Navitimer.

I'm very pleased that the DBs are here now, but I can understand the frustration of early buyers who would have chosen a DB B01 had the choice been theirs to make.

That's because it's new, it takes Breitling a while to get it on to their site.

Well so much for a Chronomat misssing the hideous Buck Rogers bezel.....

But the Navi is pretty sweet and something to concider for sure. Kinda strange that they didnt go with the World for the limited Navi. I would have thought that the World model surely outsells the regular sized Navitimer.

What's it say in red on the dial Chronomat B01? And why is the Chronomat B01 DB more expensive than the Navi? It really doesn't matter to me, but I thought that the Navi would be more since it's "new" whereas the B01 is pretty much an LE of a model that's been out for a year.

I don't think this new DB model cheapens the earlier B01's any though, if you bought the earlier one you have the very first Breitling in-house model, pretty cool IMHO.

It says "Automatic" on the Chonomat dial in red, and I guess the price difference is due to the bracelet on the Chronomat and the leather on the Navi.
