Hey Guys,

I am getting pretty close to a purchase, but was wondering what resale on a Skyland Avenger would be after a few years if the watch stays in good condition. How well will it retain value?

Not well, I paid 3 grand for mine a year ago with a diver pro and would be lucky to get 1900 for it now. Only thing I hate about Breitlings is their horrible resale value

Get a SuperAvenger instead. They hold up in value much better...

Skylands are meh. Same price, get the bigger, more popular watch.

If the SA is too big, I'd re-think the Skyland if re-sale means that much..

I don't think any Breitling holds it's value.

I guess that there may be minor differences between models based on demand, but you could argue that there are differences in the initial price - less popular models are likely to be discounted more heavily than more popular models.

If you are looking for resale value then don't buy a watch!

I'd probably go a little further and say that most watches full stop don't hold their value.

Rolex tend to do OK, but even the £5880 SDDS can be found brand new on the Bay for less than £5000.

The best for holding their value are probably some of the very limited edition Panerai models..... but then they tend to be more expensive to buy in the first place.

thats not exactly true....what about some PP? I know that in some cases they double in value.

OK, let me clarify Roff's comment :-

With the exception of some highly limited, highly expensive pieces by some of the most exclusive watch-makers on the planet (in other words, probably less than 0.5% of all the watches made in a year), then the vast majority of the time it's safe to say that if you are looking for resale value then don't buy a watch.

Not to mention that its no exactly easy to get many of these sought after models when theyre released.

i know guys i was just being a stickler.

Still better than the resell value of a vacation cruise or superbowl tickets! Honestly, spend your hard earned money on what makes you happy. If it is a new or different Breitling then you are in good company on this site. Also, if you want to trade watches or buy used, then resell doesn't much matter. Also, if you will not part with one then it also doesn't matter.

R/
