Ha My wrist can't carry a SA thats why I'm sticking to the little brother.. Avenger is about as big as I can go for such a thick case.

a huge faced Bentley or Chrono-Matic 49 on the other hand.....

SA! yes it´s starting to be more of a fashion statement and there are quite a few around. Why would you hold it against it? I think it only speaks volumes of SA:s appeal and incredible value for money. If your wrists can´t take it then go for the Avenger. (Avenger looks on my wrist the same as SA on others.) Though the Skyracer´s a cool, technical, racy looking piece too.

Depends on you, your size, and the way you carry yourself.

The SA can look great on someone that is larger is stature, or dresses in a very trendy way that makes the obvious size of the SA look like a statement or power watch. On some people it just looks downright silly. I think I fall into category two. I bought the SA batons and quickly realized it was too much for me (and I weigh 225), but my brother-in-law was visiting, and he is 6'2", works in the financial sector in SF, and dresses the part. On him the SA was absolutely perfect, so he bought it from me.

The Skyracer is a fantastic watch, with a very unique movement, and a size that most people can wear well. Its a great every day watch, with really nice dial detail that you don't see too much on sport watches. I had a white dial, and for quite a while I proclaimed it as the perfect everyday watch.

So I think the answer lies within yourself, not in the poll. Ask yourself what kind of person you are, and which watch speaks to you.

I would go for the SA but I am biased as I am picking mine up from the AD in a few days...

I think the onus is really on you to make a decision because you will be wearing the watch, not us. Personally I don't think you can really go too wrong with either piece, both are fantastic.

I will say though that I think people make too big of a deal about the size of the SA, sure it is big but the issue is inflated. On other forums especially you would get the impression that you will look like an idiot wearing it if you are under 200lbs and have less than an 8" wrist but I see it quite differently. I think the watch has more to do with your overall physical stature and how one carries themselves. I think the SA would look much better on someone with 7" wrists that weighs 165lbs but is ripped and has virtually no body fat compared to some fat guy with 8.5" wrists. My main moral is that its big size shouldn't discourage those with smaller wrists.

I digress slightly; I see everybody talking about how popular and overly abundant the SA is, but how popular is it really? It would seem to me as if the forum presents a skewed version of reality in the same way that on a specialized car forum (for a 7-series or Range Rover for example) one gets the distorted view that all of those cars are issue-plagues piles of crap because a car forum draws those with reliability woes. Perhaps the SA is just favored amongst more avid watch buffs. I say this because outside of this forum, the SA's popularity seems far less, I have seen one person wearing one in my life yet I have seen my fair share of people wearing Chronomats and Navitimers (I know this is not the fairest comparison because there are many models of Navitimers and Chronomats, but you get my point). At my local AD's they have many Breitlings come and go, but they both have had the same SA's in stock for over a year. I don't know the answer to this, this is why I am asking, I have just observed a discrepancy between the amount of SA's I see on this forum (a lot) and the amount I see in real life.
