Would not a Breitling service fix any issues if they are any?

Because if you run a pressure test... and their is a issue... wouldn't that damage the watch = needs to be sent for servicing?

The OP mentions that, if possible, they'd like to avoid the avoid the high cost of a complete service and just verify the pressure rating is still good.

Also there are a few ways to run a pressure test as mentioned in the thread. I think the preferred method would be the "dry" run and not one that could result in a ruined watch.

Done properly, the immersion test method will not "ruin" the watch. The dry method tests to higher pressures and determines seal leakage by deformation. Unfortunately, it doesn't show you where the case is leaking. The wet test, on the other hand, shows you where the problem is.

Pressure testing is not something people should try at home. A simple test is to warm the watch and then drop cold water on the crystal with an eyedropper. If moisture forms under the crystal, you have a leak. This is not reliable when there is a tiny leak somwhere that only shows up under pressure. It will, however, tell you that your watch case is pretty much open to the atmosphere.
