I fly twice weekly out of Atlanta and have never had my Montbrilliant set off the alarm. My LE titanium Movado set the damn thing off everytime but my other Movado's don't.

I'd say try going through security to see what happens....

Also, I'm sure this doesn't help answer the question, but I have more problems at smaller airports than larger ones.... go figure?

I always put any watch I'm wearing in my carry on. Prevents confusion and theft.

Went through security for the first time since the new security rules were put in place today. Only flying within Canada, but for the first time ever I had problems with the metal detector. The guy said that they had increased the sensitivity and everything set it off - the eyelets on my shoes, the metal on my jeans, my wedding ring, my silver St. Christopher.

No big deal, but I was amazed at the sensitivity on the machines!

I always take it off and put it in my shoe and stuff my belt in that same shoe so it's jammed in there. Then I bolt over and grab my shoes right away. I ahve been able to wear mine through the metal detector as well. Ever notice that fine jewelry doesn't set it off because of the low magneticity? (i'm pretty sure I made that word up, but you get what i mean...)

I fly regularly and my home airport is O'hare / Chicago. I've tried putting it in my shoes, my jacket pocket, etc. and about 2 months ago, they started making me take it out and resend it.

Now I have a small travel watch case that I keep in my carry on. I put the watch in there BEFORE I arrive at the airport and take it out immediately after getting through security....and like everyone else, I keep a vigilant eye on my bag the entire time - making sure I put my bag on the conveyor last (shoes in one bin, computer in the next, then miscellaneous stuff and liquids, and THEN my luggage. I usually get to the conveyor belt before my luggage comes out the other end :)

I'd get the piece fully insured well before things came to this.

I would say it is now time to visit netjets.com.

That takes care of many of the security issues!

I walk through wearing, set the machine off and get patted down, worth not loosing sight of the watch or getting it scrathed, I also take a less expensive diver with me this goes with my luggage

What I hate is when you pass through and beat your stuff then they back the damn belt up to re look and your stuff is out the end where it started again!

yea for me its just nerve wracking enough when your bags are stuffed and you take things out then rush through, put them back in blah blah blah. im just always afraid of losing something, so having to put my watch on the conveyor was something i didn't have to worry about.

I just put my watch in the storage case you get when it returns from a service and put that into my carry on bag. That way it's stored with no chance of getting scratched up if it gets thrown around in your bag. If you've never gotten your watch serviced and don't have a case you can just wrap the watch in something soft like a sock, scarf, etc and put it in your bag.
