Guys I'm confused by the Crosswind Specials, be that regular, or in LE's.

As far as I'm aware the regular Crosswind Special was not a limited run watch and is the forerunner of the Blackbird.

Attachment:
crosswind_special_01.jpg

The Crosswind Special Sport had a limited run of only 250 and only had two subdials.

crosswind_special_sport_01.jpg

This is a list of the Crosswind LE's we have compiled.

Crosswind Orbiter 3 - Gold Bezel - 50
Crosswind Racing Gold / Black - 100
Crosswind Special - Gold / Black - 100
Crosswind Special TT - 1,000
Crosswind Special WG with diamonds – 25

Now - I found this watch below for sale.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi ... K:MEWAX:IT
The seller says it's a LE of 1000 and it's a "B" model which would fit with the TT of 1000 in the list above.
My question is, do the Crosswind Special LE's not have some name designation specific for that watch? Because a Crosswind Special in the generic form has three subdials but evidently when it becomes a LE it looses a dial?
Or are the LE's listed above only limited runs of the normal 3 subdial Crosswind special and this is possibly something else?

Don't know if this will help or confuse but here's some pics from the Israeli site

Crosswind Racing - 18K Gold / Black - 100

Got to go out now so can't do any more research but will pick it up after the match.

So it looks like from the last pic you posted (the 18 K one), and the one on the bay, that the Crosswind Specials with two subdials are then designated as LE's.
That would mean, that there are no Crosswind Specials in a LE of the three dial variety, since the others,(that do have the three subdials) Crosswind Orbiter, crosswind Racing have their own distinct names.

Thanks a million Sharky!

The only confusion here is if I should get one or not
Nice Crosswinds, especially the solid 18K (100 run)

The Crosswind specials mentioned were available in 1000 black dial and 1000 white, the gold version was available in 100 black and 100 white, here's my two examples. i've never seen the orbiter one before, very nice

Incredibly beautiful watches Happy.
So let me get this straight. We don't have the breakdown of the 1000 white and 1000 black tt in the list. Correct?

The list just shows 1000 TT Crosswind special LE's, Just looking at the 04 Chronolog and it seems the gold version was only with a black dial

Sorry to screw up your theory but here's the white gold/diamonds Crosswind Special. This is 4/25.

Theories are made to be tested. And if proven valid, they become laws. Clearly here my friend you have punched holes in this one. :)

So now. If the above LE list is correct, and is indeed an exhaustive summation of all the Crosswind Special offerings, I can conclude that THE ONLY 3 subdial Crosswind Special that exists in an LE form is this one.

Ok so the plot thickens.

The list should look like this then.

Crosswind Orbiter 3 - Gold Bezel - 50
Crosswind Racing Gold / Black - 100
Crosswind Special - Gold / Black - 100
Crosswind Special TT - 1,000 White -1,000 Black
Crosswind Special WG with diamonds – 25
Crosswind Special YG White dial (Number?)

I think?

@bnewbie. Is the YG version the two or three subdial variety?
