I’m really curious to see some real life shots of this new edition of the SO57. I was hoping for a green dial but this one really caught my eye. I still have yet to handle one of these in person and it still may be awhile. Maybe Fred has some real life shots of how the color of the dial changes? I can imagine this really pops in the sunlight.

They look nice on the website.

For the life of me, though, I can't figure out why in the world the SOH 57 lacks slightly thicker quarter-hour markers on the bezel.

I would be quite interested in getting one of the SOH 57 versions -- but, this single detail will keep me from doing so.

Thanks for pics Fred. I’m normally not a fan of gold watches but I think the 2 tone version of this one really works well. I’d love to see this in person sometime, just have no idea when I’ll be at an AD except next year in April on a trip to Florida.

I doubt I'll be trying one on until things get better with the pandemic, Fred. Just to be clear, though -- I think the SOH '57 is a fantastic looking watch, and I'm sure that this will continue to be my reaction when I finally get to see one in the metal.

My objection to the bezel markers is certainly not gratuitous. I have always loved the bezel markings on the original 1957 Superocean, and later on the SOH -- just so unique and classic. For me, that bezel sets those watches apart from the legions of look-alike dive watch bezels. So, I love the aesthetics in that regard -- but, from a functional standpoint, the slightly wider quarter-hour markers make it all really work.

I can only surmise that the decision to change this was the result of a conscious process, and I find that to be both surprising and disappointing. Keeping the markers intact would have completely nailed it. But, what the heck -- that's just one man's opinion. :)

Now that you mention it Jim, it's all I keep noticing when I look at the pics that Fred posted. It's even worse since I wore my SOHC today and all I noticed were how much thicker the hour markers at the quarter hour were than the others. I'd still love to see this bronze dial in person though.
