The VC solution for a manual wind perpetual calendar is awesome! It allows you to switch between two beat rates depending on whether you are wearing the watch or not. So on the wrist the watch will have a 4 day power Reserve. But you can essentially put it into standby mode and it will continue keeping time at a slower beat rate and have a power reserve of 65 days. That is an absolute amazing solution to a manual wind perpetual.

I can only imagine the headache of updating a manual wind Perpetual if the watch was not worn for a few months. One of the reasons I sold my 1461 day Breitling was because I was too lazy to set all the calendar and moon phase functions once it stopped. I know I could have just bought a Winder, but I just never did. But if I could have put it down and it would have continued to run for up to 65 days that would have been a great solution

OK, so that's watchmaking taken care of then : no-one else needs to bother anymore! Absolutely hands-down incredible and gorgeous in equal measure. I'd even happily wear that with the display back on the outside.

As close as I think I've ever seen to perfection all round.

perfection. would love to be able to afford it

Agreed; that is just stunning. Absolutely stunning  Bet they're already spoken for; good luck Altair!

I think IWC did a great job with the new Spitfires.

I agree; an IWC pilot watch is on my short list; they look fantastic.

Check this out: Ressence

Very cool; always like Ressence (except for the price).

I saw the Mike Horn Panerai comes with a strap made of recycled plastic bottles as well as the box. I thought that was interesting with the SOHC special edition that has the strap made of recycled nets. I don't get all the carbotech models from Panerai either. I think the first model they brought out with that case was in high demand but then I think it slowly faded.

The new Spitfire Timezoner watch looks pretty nice. The rest of the IWC offerings aren't anything I'd run out to buy. I'm thankful they only made 500 of the Mohave desert watches since those are pretty bad. The bronze spitfire chrono is pretty cool, but I don't think I'd ever buy a bronze watch.

To me, the dial of the Santos chrono just looks off with the 2 different size subs.

Shame on GP! They can share the corner with Piaget, I will simply never consider a company that shamelessly copies another's successful design so blatantly. Douchey.

I am extremely grateful to Richard Mille for their latest release!

https://www.watchcollectinglifestyle.co ... mp-pricing

I was contemplating saving up and getting a RM10, one of their more understated designs. Having seen this release however I can very easily forget the brand altogether, and instead get something with some class, such as the VC Excellence Platine Annual Calendar for half the price.

What a joke! And here I though GP where going to be this years biggest losers.

You mean there are better watches in the $120-158K range you'd buy? I thought it was a joke when I saw those announced on timezone but then remembered it wasn't April 1st.

"The brand’s understanding of how tinted ceramics behave, expertise in layering materials like Carbon TPT and Quartz TPT and constant improvements to the setting of colored gemstones are all ingredients in these confectionery recipes, which are singularly imaginative, playful, distinctive and, most importantly, appetizing."

the Sonnerie is beautiful, the Automatic is a major fail.
journalists in Geneva are asked by AP not to take frontal pics, enough said?

Roff would love this, if he was still interested in watches.
admit i love it too, although it’s utterly useless.

That dial is beautiful with the blue fading into black and no date window. The 11.59 has potential because the movement and the case are beautiful. And the dial on the minute repeater is really nice. I just think the regular three hander and chronograph versions fall very very short.

I saw that one the other day. As you say an utterly useless novelty...... that rather sadly looks just like an Apple watch.
