This is likely a scam, here is my email with seller:
Me to seller:
“Can you send me a photo on the same background as ad with the watch set at 10:45 and date at 31 please”
Seller response:
“I'm in Blacksburg VA. Watch in a safe, could you kindly confirm reason for the request as such request? As such request mostly could be used for malicious activities. kindly prove you are a serious buyer by providing recent purchase references please.
Thanks.”

I mean, WTF?

This must be a joke, If you can't prove you are a serious buyer please don't ask me to set the time for reasons stated in my reply above. I believe as a seller I also have to be careful when dealing with buyers as I can be scammed or contribute to the scam going on. this buyer is obviously not a serious buyer and a very rude one.
Buyers Reply:
"You're the seller. Prove you have the watch. Open the safe, what's the big deal?"

Shows no sign of interest to me.

Hmm, would I purchase a watch for that amount without asking for verification of ownership? Would I expect to sell a watch for that amount without being expected to provide verification of ownership? Hmmm.....

You clearly do not have possession of this watch bud. I’ve collected watches for 20 plus years, it’s the seller who has the burden of proof of ownership. I bought another so I couldn’t care less but you’re a scammer for sure. Especially after seeing this ongoing charade

While "due diligence" is clearly required on both sides of any transaction, the burden of proof of ownership is indeed on the owner.

I suggest that all sellers consider implementing point 11 of the Buying and Selling forum rules - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=530&p=2874#p2874

I buy and sell a lot of watches. Over $5k I’ll jump through any reasonable proof of ownership requests. The simplest being a photo of specific time set. There is ZERO risk in doing such a thing. This guy does not have this watch in his possession.

Lol. The idea is that you provide a watch set to a time requested. Hahahaha. Now you have a totally different background, different lighting and a time you randomly choose (more likely a picture you randomly borrowed). But now that you realize nothing horrible will happen, post a pic of the watch on the same background with the time set to 12:58 and date to 30 and let it ride.

I'm not going to play this silly games with you. Here is another picture with a different background of same watch. I seriously don't have time for this.

Think you’re having a little fun with photoshop which is why I specifically requested the time set and background
