No photo of the movement or inside of the case back I'm afraid.

I am anything but an expert, so will just give you some observations. Regular 765 has sub registers with concentric circles and are silverish, these sub registers appear to be white and missing concentric circles. This dial says "swiss made t", not sure if that is correct. I looked at a 765 dial and that says swiss T. An index on the right sub register does not line up, with the 12. The regular 765 has a little triangle above 12 as well. The main hands on a regular 765 are different, white pencil shape filled with lume. The seconds hand is arrow shaped with lume in the arrow on a regular 765. The sub register hands on a regular 765 are not orange and the arrow shaped sub register hand should be in the right subregister with a lume filled arrow. The bezel looks like a 765 avi bezel. I cant tell what the case backs says, avi or cp? Coloured hands are found on yachting versions of the 765 and 7650, not on a regular 765. But then there should be a coloured yachting bezel. I am sure the experts will be able to tell if this is a correct rare exotic 765 or protorype or a frankenwatch.

Thanks for the comments. Agreed there are many weird or interesting aspects to this watch. The subdials do look white, but I have seen many other 765s (and other Breitling vintage watches too) that tend more to white or cream rather than silver, sometimes just because of the lighting or balance of the photos. Here's an example:

Image

The sub dials certainly do have concentric circles:

The hands, to me, are the oddest parts. The main hands look like they have come from a mid-50s Chronomat, and then been painted.

Image

I do not know what to make of the chronograph seconds hand nor the sub-dial hands, and yes they do not seem to line up correctly.

On the plus side, the case looks sharp, and the pushers and crown look correct.

My concern about the dial are these differences:

No little triangle and the 12 is missing.

On the sub register:

Since it has concentric circles in the sub regs it could be a reprinted dial.

So best case scenario imo, it is an 765 avi with a reprinted dial and incorrect hands and incorrect sub reg hands. So you would have to sort out the dial and find a full hand set. I dont think that is an easy task for a 765. If the sub reg hands are yachting hands that could be interesting as these are also quite rare i think.

Funny, no matter how long you stare at something you still don't register differences - I completely missed the missing 12.

7652 dial in a 765 case
hands completely incorrect
its a 765 CP so it should have a black bezel , the AVI had SS bezels

No surprise really as the seller also has these:

Something he thinks might a Premier, but is not sure

And something that has 785 on the caseback, but is not a Datora

What do you think the parts value of the 765 might be?

the 'premier' I doubt it started life as a BReitling (no ref on the back)

the '785' is weird as well

advice on both , walk away

value of the '765'

7652 dial : 200 ?
hands : 0
case : 500-1000
movement : ? would need to see it

Just an example that had similar hands, although now painted. Borrowed from the photos taken by Fratello Watches for their Breitling Experts article. Could have chosen from many others, but it was a good resolution.

Actually those Dauphine hands aren't necessarily Breitling hands. Those hands were like sands everywhere since the 40's.

Seriously, which fool would rape that watch with those crappy painted hands?

I have no idea what someone who would create such a watch as this 765 would do, but I certainly didn’t suggest that those came from an actual Chronomat, just that they looked like those hands. But you are correct, now that I look around, I see such hands on a few different watches, but then I see many common vintage hand styles being used by different brands. Perhaps there was a hand factory they sourced those from.
