So besides Driver putting his name down for the new Rolex Seadweller, has anyone else actually went ahead and ordered anything from Basel? I spoke with George at Govberg yesterday for the first time since the show and it sounded like the new Skydweller from Rolex was the one he got the most calls on outside of a couple of Pateks. Unfortunately, I didn't order anything on that call since I didn't see anything that I really need to have. I've got my eye on a couple others for now and can only hope for an incoming thread sometime this year.

Over the years of collecting I have learned one thing, is that if you want the latest and the greatest, you will pay top price! Also, as has previously been stated here, better to let someone else take the big hit on "depreciation". My only order would be for a special number Navi Rattrapante in a dial that if different from those that I have. Unfortunately, I already have a pan american bronze navi. I am hoping that Breitling will decide to release either a white or silver stratus LE version later this year. I will also be keeping an eye for a pre-owned JLC Master Control Chrono in mint condition, but that was a SIHH release and not Basel, don't know if it counts or not!

I really like the look the Navi on the brown croc.

Govberg's Instagram Picture

My only concern with this dial is how long that I'd like it. I agree that a either a white or even a blue dial would be a better option and I'd prefer to see it on the bracelet.

I guess it could be opened to up any SIHH orders as well. Those new JLC chorines look really nice, love the retro vibe that they have.

Well, one of this year's SIHH offerings -- the Cartier Drive Moonphase -- has led me back to last year's SIHH introduction of the Cartier Drive. Just saw this one on my recent trip to Vegas, and, I must admit, I'm smitten...

IMO the Avenger Hurricane Military is the epitome of the meaning for "instruments for professionals". If this is not, I don't know what will. Congrats on your purchases :lingsrock:

Thanks. I agree. Its why I gravitated to the ti avenger series, emergency, navitimer(s) and chronospace. I am really enjoying this watch, it wears incredibly well and is so stable on the wrist. the case does not feel cheap it feels hard, truly something special.

I must admit I have not really been following what's going on in the watch world as of late. Guess I'm not as passionate about these things as I was a few years back.

That said the only thing on my radar are a few pateks and a couple of Rolex watches that are old news.

From what I saw when I was there it was mostly smartwatches that seemed to be the biggest news at this years show. Nothing especially good in the high end bracket / automatic watches /luxury watches.

Was mostly brands like fossil, movado, frederique constant etc releasing their own smartwatches. I did however order a Kronaby Watch. Roff edit - brand new user repeatedly linking to the same site in the same part of the country as him. Don't have to be a genius to figure out what's going on so multiple posts edited.

I am not a huge fan of smartwatches or of the route many swiss watch brands are taking however I love this watch!
