Whats up Guys,

so i found a Breitling Navitimer 01 46mm that a guy from NYC sells. Guy that sells the watch bought it from a store call "Best Watch Source" or they also have a website/ebay "Watch Finder NY" located on 47th St in Manhattan, seller actually works at the mall where the store is located, so i spoke to the owner of the store, he assured me the watch is authentic and in fact he said he can give me something in writing and appraisal of the watch. HE confirmed he sold the watch to the seller and hes confident about this watch. his store is not authorized dealer and he buys watches from retailers like the one he got this one from, as u can see on the warranty card watch was sold in Orlando, i also called bretiling USA and they confirmed watch being sold from Orlando i also called breitling in manhattan they said i can stop by and they can take a look at it and confirm if its real but they cant give me anything in writing, is there anything else i can check? everything seems legit, his ebay account is perfect, good review everywhere so it looks all good and he said he has no problem putting this in writing that he sold the watch to this guy and its authentic. What should i put in writing? That "John Smith" owner of "Best Watch Source NYC" confirms authenticity of breitling Navitimer 01 serial number xxxxxxx. He "John Smith" sold the watch to "Mike Brown" on this and this date and now i buy this watch back from him. I have xx days to authenticate this watch and if there is anything wrong with it i can return it for a full reufnd to "Mike Brown". ... what do u guys think? anything else i can add to protect myself? Thanks so much for help!!

As Roff said the watch is real, with the electronic warranty card you will have no issues having it serviced over the five year warranty period. Please keep in mind that it will have to be tested for "water resistance" at two years old in order to maintain the warranty!

I called Breitling UK and asked this very question, they said it wasn't compulsory to sent the Watch in after 2yrs in order to maintain the 5yr warranty!

Not sure what the policy is in the UK but I can say the BUSA does adhere to it! So much that I get letters of reminder from the boutique to make sure that I have it done.

First of all i wanted to thank you guys for confirming, im going to buy it today, super excited my first breitling!!! About the water resistance test i believe you are right, when i called breitling USA yesterday they told me that watch needs to be sent to Breitling for a maintenance (which i believe includes water resistance testing) in order to receive additional 3 years (total of 5) UK might be different i do believe 56scooter is right, anyway thanks again guys, im going soon to pick it up and stop at breitling manhattan to confirm with breitling watch master, he said to stop by and he will tell me if its real. ill post some pictures later thanks agian its awesome to have a community like that!!

If you want to keep the watch long term, it's a good practice to generally send it in every two years for maintenance and every four years for a complete overhaul but I would stay away from any third party servicing place. Breitling should do it better.

Enjoy your beauty buddy and do post some pics..

Service every 2 years and overhaul every 4 is complete overkill. Servicing every 5-7 years is all that is required based on aging of the oils and that will likely be an overhaul type service. If water resistance test is required to maintain warranty then fine, otherwise you're wasting money to get a mechanical watch looked at any more frequently.

When I bought mine in the uk I was told it needed water testing after two years to keep the warranty good.

It's strange how they can say one thing to someone and something else to another, I made it clear what I was asking and he said not sending it in for the two year maintenance service would not effect the five year warranty!

I think I will call Breitling UK again when the two year service is due, and maybe call them again a few days later for a second opinion!
