Hey all,

2014 was a great year for me at work, and I managed to do quite well for myself (I lucked out) and I thought I would treat myself with a Breitling. I've wanted a Breitling since I was a kid and I saw my Dad with one. They're gorgeous watches and I just needed to earn enough money to buy one for myself (I have a bit of pride in that my first watch needed to be earned by me! No gift in that regard).

I went to the Boutique in NYC (I realize I could have gotten a discount if I went to an AD that sold them cheaper, but hey, I wanted the full experience).

The finalists were between the Chronomat 44 Raven (which is polarizing, some like it some hate it :D), some limited edition blacksteel watch, and the Transocean Chronograph

I ended up going with the Transocean Chronograph

Super happy with the purchase, and I realize I probably overpaid but what an experience :)

But I also wanted another watch that was more casual and a great option for daily wear - the Blackbird Blacksteel from 2012.

From 0 Breitlings to 2 in the blink of an eye!

Sorry about the bezel not being centered and the small fingerprint on the BB BS - Don't hate me for the OCD pain it causes!

Nice watches and welcome to the mad house.
The blackbird could go well on a black calf leather strap which come with white stitching.
You could consider to colour the white stitching to match the red accents on your BB, similar to what I did here. I just used a permanent felt marking pen. Just touch the stitching and the ink soaks in.

You could also consider the new Breitling military cloth straps, I'm sure they have some in the boutique.

I like the look of your watch! The work you did on the stitching really makes it look sporty.

I still have mine in the box - unsure what I want to do at the moment with it. I kind of want to go with a blacksteel bracelet. I'm a huge fan of the look though, and I'm very happy I was able to find one, on ebay, and it has a 2 year WARRANTY to boot!

Drop dead gorgeous watch. I am very happy with the purchase! Thanks all for welcoming me so nicely :)

I now have taken some photos of them together. I love both these watches. One is classic and elegant, and the Blackbird is probably my favorite Breitling watch outside of this Transocean...

I can't decide which one I like more! They're both awesome and fit very different usage profiles, so happy I saw the Blackbird BS
