As I am preparing am article about Breitling divers, I remembered I had promised to post more pics of the ref. 2105 and the "corduroy" box it came in.

This one most probably (did not source it directly) was part of the Roy Geweniger NOS Stock (nice story: http://www.ewatchshow.com/newest/watch/ ... _story.php) - one of my Breitlings I can not date to a production year, as the factory/distributor sticker still covers the serial number ......

Funky 70s & extremely innovative !

Will not join the fight whether the Zenith El Primero, the Cal.11 by Breitling/Heuer/Bueren or the Seiko were the first automatic chronograph calibers; my interpretation of the available date suggest that Zenith was the first to announce, Breitling/Heuer the first to present (at Basel 1969) and Seiko the first to really ship the watches - so I'd declare each of them a winner in this never-ending competition ;).

But to pack that new technology into a 20ATM Diver is quite a different task - the ref. 2105 SuperOcean Diver was presented at Basel 1970, most probably the world's first automatic chronograph Diver.

The ref. 2105 are quite rare, maybe because all that new technology came at a price, the 2105 were - afaik - the most expensive SS Breitlings at DM650; about 50% above the transOcean.

Another nice touch - I recently acquired a stock of Breitling OEM bracelets, mixed bag, bad pics and no model database available. One very nice surprise was this "big case" OEM mesh; another a bracelet I never saw or heard of before, an OEM bracelet for the Pult/Pupitre, will post pics of that soon.

Hope you enjoy it.

Gorgeous piece Fred would love to add a birth year 2105 at some point.

A truly lovely piece made even more so by that stunning vintage mesh. Your pic presentation including the "corduroy" box is outstanding to say the least. And you even included one of your patented stunning wrist shots! Congratulations on the wonderful addition to your collection and thank you so much for sharing. :D
Best,
Ron

PS. I remember when that NOS collection was being sold off around ten years ago or so. I came so close to snagging a couple of the pieces but at the time I was trying to round out an Old Navitimer/Cossie collection and never pulled the trigger on any of those NOS pieces available from Roy... :(

Amazing Fred they just keep coming - one beauty after another. Way to ditch the blue pinstripe shirt for black...perfect for that watch!

thanks all, nice it is, but the crystal is slightly damaged at 12:30, took me ages to find a NOS replacement,
finally found stock in Argentina of all places, arrived in Vienna, clearly authentic and original, so
the watch will be perfect again soon. :)

@Rich: I rather rarely stray from my habits (yes, I know, some call it addictions), the shirt is a very,
very dark, "Midnight" blue stripe; guess what color my car is ;)

Thanks for the history. I was wondering about that piece (ref. # and age) when you posted pics of it earlier. Still like the colors and overall dial layout, awesome!
