I will kick it off here , lets see who agrees or disagree

something strange here , it looks like it has the bigger rice bezel but the movement, spacer and the BOW points to a early watch which should have a bezel with small beads

it has a 1956 (871xxx) serial number so I would expect a small rice beads bezel

also on closer inspection

-: hands look repainted
-: Wing without AOPA (as far as I know dials without AOPA didnt show up until 1959)

so IMO this watch has some work done to it

Some cosmetic newbie observations, the lume has got very dark too, so the price has to be adjusted to take that into account. The most desirable lume shade for me atleast is the yellowish patina followed by the white which would fetch a better price. You should also ask the seller for some pictures in normal light, this one looks like a picture edited in photoshop so could have been adjusted to make the watch look better.

@Dracha: When you say repainted hands, do you mean are relumed or that the metal part of the hands has been repainted to white like in picture and that these should have been a silver colur?
Struck me too that the dial looked from 1959 but the serial didn't match.

I mean that the hands have been repainted with white substance
the telltale here is that the tubes (middle piece where the hand connects to the movement) have been smeared and filled with paint as well
here's a close up from one of mine where you can clearly see the tubes , which have a metal colour and the hands themselves are white. So originally the hand was painted first, then mounted to the tube and then fitted to the movement

Similar concerns - BOW code (vs. WOG) with an AOPA would certainly imply early, AOPA logo without the wording implies later as Dracha says. The outer sliderule also looks slightly off, but that's not a big deal. Hands are certainly relumed at best.

I can't see anything that looks 'wrong' for a Breitling, but there's quite a bit of evidence that the pieces didn't start life together.
