Hi everyone,

I am assuming that this is a franken/fake watch? I don't mind something refurbished. Just don't want a completely fake piece of junk. Obviously the face looks new, don't know about the movement either? Any ideas? Thanks everyone. I appreciate your knowledge. I do have to admit though that the watch looks nice. http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie ... ink:top:en

Hmm, interesting.

It's actually consistent with a mid 40s 760 - two register, square pushers, case is correct. However, the condition looks scary good and if it's been refinished then the numbers shouldn't look so sharp.

Dial obviously raises suspicions about the whole thing, but I can't say that it's fake. Interested in other opinions.

Pretty much summed it up Roff... I had one similar too... the dial is the only issue with me...

same seller had the "all original" 815 pair where one went above $ 4,000 some months ago.

sold another "all original" 815 last week http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VINTAGE-CHRONOGR ... 23138264a1

some more watches in similar condition he claims to be "all original" he sold in the last two weeks all look much too good not to be refinished/restored:
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VINTAGE-CHRONOGR ... 231381a323
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VINTAGE-LONGINES ... 2313509715
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VINTAGE-VACHERON ... 23134f2fb0
http://www.ebay.ca/itm/VINTAGE-LECOULTR ... 2313511bd2

So either he has a huge stock of NOS 40s/50s/60s watches (probably not) or does quite a good job refinishing/restoring, but keeps mum about this.

I do not like the dial on the 760, proportion between Breitling script and Premier seems wrong, sunken subdials on a 1945 760 ?
case also much too good after 66 years of use, while the movement shows signs of aging.

Yeah dial is wrong and movement to case condition is certainly suspect - would also be thinking that bridge should have Premier if the dial does.

Assuming that the case is restored it's an exceptional job, especially given the depth of the stamping.

Sooooo. Here is the million dollar question. I realize to a collector, this item would not be as desirable, as it has been refurbished. However, to the amateur, such as myself who would like a nice looking piece of history. What is the most that something like this should go for? Or at least a price range. Of course if I do pick this up. I will let the board know.

Hi,

I probably paid too much, but I got caught up in the moment. 920.00$ + shipping. I still can't wait to get it. It is my wedding gift to me, for when I get married in February.
