The blurry wrist shots I posted of my two new acquisitions did not seem to impress the photography critics here.

To make up for it, I've broken out the proper camera, which focuses well enough to make me think I should have spent more time wiping the dust off the watches.

First up, Breitling Superocean Heritage 46 on a diver pro II strap - very comfortable!

Image

Next up, Rolex GMT Master IIc, which I'll admit has been on my wrist every day since I bought it. Presumably at some stage I will stop wiping it down several times a day and just accept that it picks up fingerprints.

Here they are with a well-known piece of background scenery:

And finally, I had to take one with the stupid magazine advertisement that sat open in my apartment for two weeks and eventually caused me to buy the GMT.

Very nice Otto. I had a GMT just like that for a short period of time and I too didn't want to take it off. Congrats and wear them in good health.

That's one Rolex I wouldn't mind having (imagine if it was the same size like the SOH  )

ENJOY IT Otto :D

Now those are some decent pics Otto!

I'm actually quite surprised at how the GMT doesn't look that small against the SOH. The redesign of the lugs since the old Submariner have really given Rolex's a greater presence. Nice pair!

Oh and I'm very jealous of the view too!

Nice shots Otto.

I tried on the Rollie last week. I really wanted to like it, but I just can't get past the cyclops. Really wish that it didn't bother me as much as it does.

GMTII-C is perhaps the best looking modern Rolex - period.

I just wish it were 43mm like its big brother the DSSD. :)

Hey Otto,

Just wondering, if purchased in Sydney, which AD you bought the rolex from?

Thanks guys.

I would walk through fire to get a larger GMT if they made one, but in the meantime I'm very happy with the 40mm version - the size doesn't bother me at all, despite the doubts I had before I bought it (I do have a small wrist though).

Ben - will PM you about the dealer.

I am super close to buying a GMT Master II! I have not got a collection of watches at all. I have a B2 latest version with steel/rubber and calf leather straps all on deployment.

I have really got used to the weight now which has a real quality feel. I have seen the watch in the shop. The bezel is the best I have ever felt. Amazing build quality. However the steel strap was a little flimsy...... Which kinda put me off. I do think however it is just because I am used to my breitling.

One of my colleagues has an older submariner and he is quite a big guy and it looked absolutely stunning on. It didn't look too small and the bracelet looked great.

I think the overall proportions of the watch are perfect. I guess its just getting used to it....

How were your first days getting used to wearing it? Did you think it looked felt a little small? I have 61/2 inch wrists so it would probably look just right on me

great photos Otto but my question is what is on the other side of the ledge where you rested the watches? looks like a balcony and i would have had a heart attack if the watches fell over - yikes!!

fantastic watches!!

Thanks for the comments :D

nowayman - it did feel small for the first couple of days, part of me wondered if I had done the right thing even though I love the design of the watch, because I was used to 44mm+ watches. It helped that I had become accustomed to Speedmasters first. I think you're right, it's a matter of getting used to it. At the moment I'm getting used to a Sea Dweller - when I look directly at it on my wrist, it looks small, but if I catch sight of it in a mirror or something, it looks just right (I'm 6'1'' and 205 pounds by the way).

obsolete - yep, that is a balcony. On the other side there is some metal cladding at a 45 degree angle, then a raingutter, so at least it's not 8 storeys straight down. I was very nervous with that shot though, for some reason I got it into my head that a bird was going to swoop down and grab one - I get cockatoos on that balcony sometimes...
