Several months ago I started a journey on purchasing my first (serious) watch. I initially wanted to purchase a Tag, and started out with a budget of $1500. During my first visit to an AD I tried on several Tags, but the dealer suggested I try on a Breitling Colt (as the dealer thought Breitlings were a better quality watch). I left the store that day unsure of which watch I wanted, but I left with the 2009 Breitling Chronolog. From that day on I neurotically looked at the book, and visited every AD in my area trying on watches and asking lots of questions. My choice of watch went from a Tag to a Colt to a CSO to an Avenger and finally to a Chronomat. A couple weeks later and three times over budget I brought the wife to an AD in New Hampshire. I tried on all of the above watches and she agreed with me that the Chronomat was the best fit. I would like to thank this site because of everything I learned , and because of this site I was able to negotiate a price of almost 30% off a new Chronomat Black Dial/W Silver Subs/Pilot Bracelet. Breitling source is a great place to obtain information, and I will tell anyone that wants to buy a Breitling to look here before making any purchase. I also want to say that I talked with George from Govberg. He was another wealth of information, and if I hadn't had a reasonable offer from an AD in my area I would have purchased a watch from him in a minute. I will be picking up the Chronomat this weekend and will post a couple picks. Thanks again Steve

Well played, and what an accomodating wife I might add!

The best advice I received during my buying process here was to try on everything and don't settle for anything. Glad you got just what you wanted, and congrats.....

Ha, right now I am exactly where you were . . . reading the Chronolog, visiting dealers, researching, etc. Good to know there are other folks out there in the same boat. Enjoy the watch.

Peace

Mike

Just picked up the "Ling". It looks and feels very nice. I will post picks later after I learn how to do it. The sales rep also gave me the Breitling Book and Breitling Cleaning Cloth for nothing. I have to say it was a good day.

Congrats. I'm a 'newbie' myself. Picked up a Chronomat Evolution, blue dial with gold chronos and absolutely love it! This seems like a great website and I'm looking forward to checking it out further. :lingsrock:
