Not really in the right section here, they are from the Breitling SA era ...
81600 versions were the 1st versions of the angled sliderule Navitimers and appeared with the old style snapped caseback , very close to 806 caseback ; they were produced only in 1985 -86 with this caseback design, Navitimer 81600 with the Lemania 1873 , and Cosmonaute 81600 or 81600-24 with the Lemania 1873-24 so called 1877 .
In 1987 the snapped casebacks stamped with the B logo and the double Breitling codification appeared, using a 6 digit code:
digit 1 = 1 letter for case metal ( A for st.steel , B for SS + SS bezel with GP indexes , C for SS + rose gold bezel , D for SS + yellow gold bezel , etc )
digits 2-3 = caliber code ( ie 11 for Lemania 1873 , 12 for Lemania 1873-24, 13 for 7750 , etc )
digits 4-5-6 = version ( ie 019 )
Btw 1987 and 1991 the double codification was used ( ie 81610 - A13019 for a SS Old Navitimer) .
In 1992 corresponding to launching of "waterproof" versions with screwed caseback, only the 6 digits new code remains ( ie A13020 for a SS Old NaviII ).

Hi. I bought this watch a few months ago before being introduced to your fantastic forum. Now,having spent many hours looking at a variety of threads, I have developed an urge to know whether my watch is correct. The case back doesn't look like other case backs from models that I assumed were from the same period though my knowledge level is less than zero and I have only compared watches on the interweb. Thanks for your help.

why does it seem to have a '81600 B' reference on the back (Navitimer) but a Cossie dial ? I assume the B is for the gold bezel but the Navi reference ?

I know some of the 81600 / x12019 Navi's had dual references on the back , I just dont recall ever having seen a 81600, which is a typical Navi reference, with Cossie dial / movement
