Hello- I recently purchased a Navitimer 01 on eBay and I had it authenticated by a watchmaker. The seller had tons of buying history but very little selling history and appeared to be a normal dude just selling a watch. I think it was priced on the lower end of normal. So the price was not to good to be true but definitely below the used market (according to ebay sales records). After reading a scary thread on this site about a guy who purchased a watch, had it authenticated, and then found out it was fake sometime later when he tried to sell it on ebay and his ebay post was reported by fellas on this site made me scared. I figured I'd rather be safe then sorry. So here I post the watch with, dare I say it, an unlikelihood of being a replica. If god forbid it is fake I could always make a pay pal claim now. The complete set came with papers, an electronic warranty card, and all the other paper work. The warranty card was pretty hard to read and I read that movement numbers should be on the COSC certificate (my COSC certificate does not have a movement number). It's almost looks like an LCD screen on the warranty card has been beat up. I can see the correct serial number on the warranty card. I would venture that the warranty card is the hardest thing to replicate. I deleted all serial numbers in the pictures. Oh ya, and my name was on the globe in the background :).

Thanks in advance for taking a few minutes to confirm authenticity.

I am on a phone but it looks OK to me. Removing the case back has increased the likelihood it will need servicing soon / now though.

My first Navitimer test is to confirm precision operation of slide rule ("whizz wheel" :) ) and this one seems to be OK judging from your photo.

Why is that? I guess you better off still confirming that the moment is real.

The watch is running +15 so I was thinking it probably is in need of a service or regulation anyway. I assume Breitling is the only one who works on the in house movement and it needs to be sent off to them. The AD in my town said they send all watches to Breitling but I don't think to highly of this AD.

Is +15 enough to have it regulated under warranty. Honestly I don't even care about the +15 as I don't wear it every day but if opening it makes it need service and it's running +15 and this can all be done under warranty then there is no down side.

Thanks for authenticating.

Regulation can be done under warranty if it is stable at +15. However, removing the caseback is reason for Breitling to deny warranty service if they figure it out. Why is removing the caseback a bad idea? Well I'm guessing you weren't in a clean room when you did it so there is all kinds of dirt and dust now in there that will affect the movement.

Well not to sound like bocktagon and his watchmaker experience but I actually brought it to a watch maker (they are not a Breitling approved service center but they are a Rolex authorized servicer) and had them remove it and snap the pictures for me. Another reason for display backs.
