Hi all,

Looking to purchase the SOSF in the attached photos. Looks good to me, based on all my research on this site and other sites regarding the known issues with fakes, but I'd very much appreciate your expert eyes on this before I finalize the sale. Unfortunately this doesn't come with papers / boxes, but there is an older sales receipt from a seemingly reputable jeweler.

Thank you in advance for any feedback!

Dgoth

Not easy to tell on those photos.
Hi-res photo of the face, especially the dial would help.

Thanks for your quick response. Yeah, sorry about the poor photo quality. Here's a few at slightly higher resolution.

Cheers,

Photos are still bad, but judging on tail of an S in "Superocean", looks real.

I'm thinking that it's fake.

On the clasp, reverse side of the wings stamping, you can see the imprint. A known fake tell.

The bracelet screws are set back deep into link. Another known tell.

The black dial should have a very noticeable sunray effect with the guilloche. Especially in direct light. Also, the hour markers have too much contour underneath them. Whereas on the genuine you can plainly see that they are applied onto a flat dial

Finally, the solid end links should sit slightly lower in the watch lugs.

These points mentioned, in my opinion, make me think that this is fake. I've seen fakes being peddled from reputable dealers so unless there's matching box and papers, I'd pass on it.

@ 1952
Although I value Your opinion, I don't agree with it.
There is no reverse stamping on the safety clasp, as it can be seen.
