Hi everyone, being here means loads to me as I now know that I am within arms reach of owning a "proper watch"
Ok it might sound sad but This is going to be my xmas prezzie from me and I deserve it so I don't want to get ripped off!
I've looked at acouple of Navitimers recently and they were lightweight and shoddy and, the sellers didn't really do anything for my
confidence. I can't afford to buy new so I have to put up with them however I was offered this today, it feels ok actually (to the untrained eye) and it is inexpensive but has been uncared for if it is real, as two of the subdials have their hands floating behind the crystal but the watch still works! It is an A13370 and there are some grainy pics attached, my fault I'm afraid. If poss, can anyone confirm it's originality or origin please because I'm just not sure. This is going to be the last watch I ever own so please be assured that any advice will be appreciated 100%. Thank you so much in advance.

For your first I'd look to buy from the "for sales" in the forum here. You'll know it's real and the prices are usually pretty realistic.

Like the other guys said, it's definitely fake. I'd also like to add if a Navitimer feels light and shoddy, it's a fake. Navitimers exude quality. If you can find an authorized dealer, go take a look at one in person and you will see what I mean. All Breitling automatic chronographs are going to be on the heavy, chunky side too and definitely not cheap. The cheapest used modern Navitimer is going to be close to 4000 USD, excluding similar Montbrillants and Spatiographes which will be closer to 2.5-3k. You can find the 1990s Quartz model Navitimers for under $1000 but that's about it on the "cheap" side of things.

I'm curious--where are you finding all these lightweight fakes? The only place I consistently see a high percentage of fakes is Craigslist.

although the pictures are not great, this watch bears no resemblance to any known breitling model..

would definitely steer clear of this one!

cheers,
pg
