Maybe Feldmar knew that they would be penalized by BUSA for their mistake, so perhaps they never sent it in. :?:

First time I have ever heard of Breitling (anywhere) returning a fake - as I noted earlier in this thread standard practice is to destroy it.

You see, it's things like this that make me even more confused. Throughout this process you guys have obviously been right about everything that you've said. If that's truly the case, the only thing I can think of is perhaps the watch never got sent at all.

I didn't see this before I sent my reply. That's a possibility. I'm really at a loss as to what to do at this point. It's pretty obvious that something isn't right here with their practice one way or another.

Right, time for an AD to chip in...

First of all, Breitling will never ever send a fake Breitling back to the AD. Never! The AD should have gotten a very short letter stating the watch is fake and will not be returned.

Also, it seems very strange that Breitling would say that there is nothing they can do. They should have told you they would investigate the matter and contact you back. They should have contacted the AD and ask him for an explanation. The mistake made here is a perfect example for an AD to loose their contract.

In no way I am saying the OP is lying but there's something very fishy about this story...

Thank you very much for commenting. I am so confused as to what is going on at this point, especially after you said that. I just called back and left a message with my state representative for Breitling USA so I can see how it would be possible that they would actually send the watch back if it was found to not be authentic. Someone is not being truthful here. I agree that the story sounds very fishy, it's just that it's very difficult for me to get to the bottom of it when Breitling won't say or do anything about the matter. I really need to figure this out, it's such a mess. Everything I have said to this point is all of the information I have and it's completely factual. Is there someone higher in the chain of command than Breilitng USA that I can contact regarding this matter? I would think obviously Switzerland would be the answer, but I'm not really sure how contacting them would work exactly.

Okay. I just spoke to Breitling once again. Their words exactly were that they will ask for permission to destroy a fake but if the customer once it back, they send it back. When they do send it back, they provide no official documentation stating that the watch is fake. In fact, being as the store sent the watch, they are the customer in this case and they cannot provide me anything stating the watch isn't authentic.

this does not stack up... (polite version of "it's a load of b......s")

if it's a fake, it's a fake and ANY brand would remove it from the market without asking the owner's authorisation!

cannot believe ANY brand would be so lax about decent fakes ("decent" because some are so obviously fake it's not worth paying any notice... e.g. http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=59078)
cheers,

Exactly! I completely agree. They way they are being on the phone is not something that I can comprehend for a company like Breitling. You would think they barely even care. Here is the phone number if anyone would like to call to verify the information that I am sharing 203-762-1180. You will have to ask to speak to "Nikki", she is the representative for California. I even asked if there was someone above her I could speak to and she said that she already spoke to her mananger and they corroborate what she says exactly. With that being said, does anyone have any contact information for English speaking representatives for Breitiling Switzerland?

in the UK, so cannot really help...

but here is from their website:

Breitling SA
P.O.Box 1132
2540 GRENCHEN - SWITZERLAND
Tel +41 32 654 54 54
Fax +41 32 654 54 00

would think (famous last words!) that such an international company would have english speaking personnel, even in switzerland...

Okay, I called back to Breitling USA for an email address and they gave me marche-suisse@breitling.com

I suppose I will now email them and see what comes up.

This has now become a very strange thread indeed, sorry to say that - just voicing my thoughts

Why would a person in Breitling USA give out a Swiss marketing email?

No it is not. I wish Breitling gave more of an interest on this matter for sure.
