The SA reps are pretty good, but the AR coating is too green and the wings logo on the buckle is too flush (and flakes out). All telltale signs. It's tough to tell with the poor photography...

And who "throws out" box/paperwork on a black steel???

I would be very careful with this one.

Oh, and 2502628 is a known replica serial number. 8)

*edit* That brings up an interesting point - would an AD validate the serial number/edition number for a potential customer? Could you ask if #236 matches with 2502628?

*edit2* Here's a couple of fakes for sale with the same serial. Be careful out there boys...

You're right about that s/n. I've found a fake blacksteel on one of my reference fake watch sites with the same s/n.
Yes ADs can check a s/n on a database, but if this common number has been issued to a real blacksteel, that would be of limited help. S/N checks are useful for fakes that use a s/n range where the chances the model details on the database match the suspect watch are very small.

I don't use buckles / straps as evidence one way or another on the watch, and visually I still can't see anything wrong with it. However, the fact that 2 different pieces have the same serial number is clearly conclusive.

Reported using bitly version of the link to the image that you posted so won't quote what I actually put so that the link doesn't get around - "Quality fake of this model. See image here <removed> for same serial #, different LE#"

I know what you're saying, which is why I asked if they would validate the combination of edition number (XXXX/3000) and s/n.

That might be a valid s/n, but it's probably not the right s/n for watch #236 (as it appears on many replica edition numbers).

I'm not sure if they can cross reference to the LE series number. They can find the extended ref. no. that reveals things such as dial type and colour, etc.
