Post subject:  I think it's real but is it ?

I recently found a Breitling on Ebay in a vintage watch store. The store sold 11734 items and was rated 98.74 percent. Seems good enough but i'm wondering what you experts think...
I had never seen it before.

The text said: Classic Breitling watch around 1955 with original dial.
reference number 2525
calibre Felsa 4000
lengh in cm 20,1
size in mm 34,9
depth in mm 11,5
weight in g 38,9
bandwith in mm 18

Below you'll find the pictures. I'm looking forward to hear your opinion(s)
I'm especially curious what you think og the winding knob (right word ?) WITHOUT Breitling logo.

Kind regards,

Marco

Would I be right in thinking that the store was South American?

Breitling did use Felsa 4000 movements, and the 2525 was one of them, and this is consistent with the descriptions I can find of a 2525.

I don't have any pictures, but I found one online - http://www.clubbreitlingisrael.co.il/si ... D7%9D+2525

As you can see it's similar, but not quite the same - lugs and crown are different.

If your concern about the crown is the lack of a B, that's not a problem, although it does seem rather large for period correct).

I don't have much information to go on here, and most things look correct for the mid 50s (though a serial number would be nice, likely on the inside of the caseback).

I'm not sure that the rotor is right, but it may be - the Felsa 4000 wa produced in a number of different jewel versions, so that doesn't help much.

Don't know enough about these to say whether it's right or not, if the seller was South American then I'd be very nervous about it as they are usually 'Frankenwatches'.
