Hi Guys,

I recently bought a Breitling for Bentley 6.75 at an estate auction, but it didn't have the papers with it and I'm concerned that it might be a fake.
If it fake then it's a really well done one, but I've been told horror stories about how exact the replicas can be. It has the following, which from what I gather rules it out as a fake (cheap one anyways):

- AR coating
- All the correct logos as far as I can tell (even a Stylized "B" on the bezel)
- A working chronograph
- Automatic motion
- Crisp lettering and numbering
- Correct fonts on the date
- Serial numbers on the back and band
- It's heavy enough to use as a makeshift weapon

I've attached some pictures, let me know if you guys need anything more. Thanks so much! :?

:welcome:

Good news! :real:

The tell on the very good 6.75 is the date window. It's slightly wider on the replica (right).

There is also more white space above the numbers on the slide rule.

If you use the search function, you can find out how to get a replacement box and COSC certificate from Breitling. However, you won't be able to get a new warranty book.

Thanks Sharkmouth!
That's very good news indeed. I love this watch... finding out that it was a fake would be very disappointing.
I've done a bit of lurking on the forum today and I love what you guys are doing here...you're like the CSI of Breitling watches. I think I'll go on eBay once in a while and see if I can do some fakespotting of my own. :lingsrock:

May I ask if you picked this up at a really good price?

I got it for a decent price compared to what I've seen used ones going for... still not cheap but I'd say its a bargain. Why do you ask? Something I should be concerned about? :|

Man, your wrist looks like a 6 years old wearing that thing.... I tried one on yesterday and put it next to my Chronomat Early B13048 (40mm compared to the Bentley's 46mm or 48mm) and couldn't believe how big it was. I feel like I'm wearing an ankle bracelet on my wrist.

Hahaha actually udcan, that's not my wrist in the pictures, it's my 18 year old niece... the seller was in a different city and my uncle was sending me those particular pics in advance so I could decide if I was interested in coming to take a closer look in person. I don't have meaty wrists by any means either, but I think it looks great...a good, solid, masculine watch. Thanks for the fashion review though

And thanks for your comments Ian...I am enjoying the watch immensely :D

Nothing to worry about just wondered if estate sales were a good route to go for pieces at great prices every now and again! Enjoy the watch and wear it in good health!

lol, I've got a good size wrists I think. 6'2" and 220lbs. Used to be skinnier but my college days are over and now it's the office life for me. Bentley's are what? 48mm? I don't really follow them, and would probably never buy one, especially off eBay. They just aren't the Breitling for me. I'm a Navi or Chronomat kind of guy, but to each his own, and that's why one of the smart guys at Breitling made a bunch of different styles...

And being that it was your niece's arm I'm partially vindicated in saying that it looks big on the wrist. But it's too big of a look for me at least. Congrats on the new Breitlin though!!!
