Post subject:  Trouble on deciding "back-up"-watches...

I was expecting Authenticwatches to deliver an Omega to me in the upcoming week, but yesterday I got a message saying it is not available any longer. Trying to decide if I want a full refund or something else instead, I think I ended up in the following "back-up" plan:

# Zenith Grande Class El Primero, 18K WG case on black leather strap
# Breitling Super Avenger, SS Black dial with white subdials
# Omega Speedmaster, Schumacher Special Edition, SS Red dial
# and a small refund for the remaining dollars.

Do you have any thoughts or ideas for other choices?

Since it's either refund or other Authenticwatches, I'm a bit limited to their supply. Also, I only want watches with the maunfacturers serial numbers intact. I don't mind that this is limiting the possible choices, keeping the numbers is more important. (Or, just getting the refund.)

Well given that we all have Breitlingitis the SA is tough to pass up, but he Zenith is a nice looking watch.

I think in your position though I would take the refund, with limited options I would be concerned that I was 'settling' rather than getting a watch that I truly wanted.

Yes, that's true. But, on the other hand, if Omega doesn't produce the watch I wanted in the first place, I can settle with something else. The Omega version was so special it's highly unlikely it'll come out on the used market for a very long time.

Another aspect is that I live in Sweden and Authenticwatches are in the US. Today the dollar is extremely cheap, regarding Swedish currency. If I get a refund I'll lose both some money on the transaction, but more important the possibility to buy a few nice watches at a really low price (maybe not in dollars, but in my Swedish currency). The later is the reason I think I should pick something else from their supply.

I really like the Zenith Chronomaster Open XL personally... but if you have enough credit there for a Class El Primero in 18K WG (I'm assuming u have over $10K to spend?) then I would spend a bit more and get a solid gold Bentley Mark VI maybe.

I also like the Ebel 1911 BTR Chronos... and the Super Avenger is great. I already have one so I wouldn't want another one myself ;) The Omega Speedmaster is nice too, but I have already sold mine!

And today, I received a neat package at work. FedEx did a great job!

Of course I couldn't wait, so I more or less ripped it open and out popped...

Woo!! Three brand new watches in one package.. doesn't get much better than that.

Funny though, sometimes i prefer it when my watches come separately because then I can devote my full attention to each watch as it arrives! The Zenith is nice, though I prefer the look of the Chronomaster XXL's (or are they just XL's?)

Normally, I prefer single arrivals too. But, in this case with a very low dollar, I did my best to spend the account... :P

Unless your currency is tied to the (not so) Almighty Dollar as is the case here :?
