jnelson3097 has asked about the color of the dial, but it’s so special I thought it deserved its own thread.

This is a very rare LE of 98 pieces for the ME commissioned the Kuwait AD. I am very happy I got my hand on one!

The color of the dial truly is magical, primarily green but has a luster and seems to change drastically based on lighting conditions.

I tried to capture this is these pictures:

That looks amazing! I don't think I could ever justify buying a green dial given a small collection, but this would be something I'd love to have in a larger collection.

I used to believe that the Panerai with radioactive lime was the deadliest watch, but that title now goes to this LE from IWC. I couldn’t keep my eye on the road today! So much so I had to do a video for you guys:

In sunlight it glitters and changes colors in an absolutely mesmerizing way!

It is most beautiful indoors though, the camper does not come close to captioning the beuty if that green dial, it looks like a huge flawless gemstone! IWC hit this one out the park!

This more than makes up for the disappointment with the fake AP. The fact that it is an LE of 98 is even better, very unlikely to see this on anyone else.

Indoors:

Wow! It really does look amazing. The green dial with the Santoni strap is the perfect combo. I wonder if the green Bentley premier model will have a similar look.

Fabulous colour.

How's the timekeeping? I found my Big Pilot to be absolutely garbage in that department. It was so fast I was tempted to take the crystal out and use the damn thing as a fan! (And that was AFTER three trips back to IWC!)

my 5009 and 5007 run really well within COSC

the older BP had some reliability issues for sure

Timekeeping is spot on all the IWCs I got, they certainly are not the most accurate, bur run fine within COSC. I think you got a bad one Driver.

Shame on IWC for not compensating you, we pay good money for these pieces, that are really far from a good value objectively. As a luxury product the entire experience should be a pleasure, including aftersales and guarantee. I would send them an email and let them know you will not be buying their products anytime soon.

If I recall (and it was a while ago now), my BP was running at over +30 seconds a day initially and it wasn't magnetised. The first two trips to IWC UK managed to get it down to +20 to 25 secs per day, and the 3rd trip to IWC Switzerland got it down between +10 and 15 secs a day. Not great for an £11.5k watch (at today's prices).

To be slightly fair to IWC, I did receive a personal call from someone in Switzerland while my BP was with them for the 3rd time (assuring me it would be all fixed this time : it wasn't fixed incidentally :? ), and they did also send me a nice Swiss Kubik watch-winder as compensation which was a nice touch. However I would've traded the chat and the winder just for an accurate BP! I sold the watch shortly after that as a totally inaccurate watch is basically just a fancy bracelet.

That, and the fact IWC managed to scratch the case during it's first trip back to them(!), has kind of put me off ever buying another from them.

Glad your ones are running OK though.
