I do like the slightly revised case shape. It looks a lot more dressy than it used to. Very nice piece.

It's fantastic to see you back on the forum Altair; I've thoroughly enjoyed catching up on all your posts. Your collection and options are just phenomenal; good luck with all the decision making and congrats on your journey back to good health and a great life.

I'm still here albeit more of a reviewer these days than a poster. The forum has definitely livened up though over the past couple of months with the new releases and visits from some of the old crew. It's really good to see and I hope it continues.

Great to see you're still about Tim! Another of the "old guard" returning to active service! The way this is going we'll have Roff back in no time!

(And thanks for posting on the project thread too...., although we appear to be fighting a general wave of apathy on that one at the moment. :? Still, it may pick up in time).

Yes, but really want to do an amazing project this time. One to end all projects, a watch that will be coveted and envied by millions. Setting up a special trip to have something custom made. I am determined!

Speaking of the Santos, the new blue dials look pretty nice. I'm anxious to see some live shots.

I really do hope Roff stops by, even just to say hi and catch up. I always respected that man and was very fond of him.

Great to see you too Driver and wouldn't it be great for Roff to drop back in on occasion! I've been in watch 'wilderness' for a couple of years and it's good to get excited again with the forum activity in addition to some of these new releases.

I was a little slow to see the Project but glad that Altair is on a mission. I'm hoping the apathy reverses as the project comes to light but I'm with you.

Guys, I need your help! Please talk me out of this watch!

https://monochrome-watches.com/iwc-debu ... ic-straps/

I need another watch about as much as I need a knock on the head, but I just cant it out of my mind! I saw it at the AD when I picked up my two latest acquisitions and fell in love! I have been using my Omega PO for pool duty and the orange was my liveliest watch, gives me a sense of relaxed fun. But that IWC Yacht Club had such an elevated sense of elegance coupled with a whimsical vibe I found myself thinking how great it be at the pool, swimming, and with certain casual attire.

Do you think this is a temporary hit for IWC, bound to be forgotten as a gimmicky watch, or maybe a classic with impecable execution?

I have to say IWC did do a very nice job here, very crisp and lively yet lively and fun! I tried to wear the Omega today but it just seemed so tacky all of a sudden.

DAMMIT!

Well, Altair, if it suits your taste, then you have your answer as far as that aspect is concerned.

As for me though -- and I'm sure there are differences of opinion on this point -- I would never get a watch for the purpose of swimming, snorkeling, water sports, etc. that didn't have at least 100m WR. The 60m WR on the IWC would be a deal breaker for me -- but, like I said, I'm sure that others have different views and experiences that might lead them to a different conclusion.
