I don't know about you guys, but I come out in cold sweats whenever I see a photo of a fantastic watch costing several thousand dollars on a wrist right next to some $5 bracelet with it's hard (and sometimes spikey) metal parts rubbing against the watch case!

I see it loads online (and I'm sure some of you guys are guilty of it too! ), but it does my nerves no good at all! For me it's a recipe for instant scratches, and like a constantly dripping tap, or a banging door, it just gets my OCD gland working overtime!

I'm with you there, I like the look but would never put a metal bracelet or even leather w\ metal clasp next to my watch for that reason, I use my other arm for the bracelets. That's why all my watches are immaculate and scratch free.

I have seen such cases and don't see why a person should wear a "$5" bracelet on the same wrist as his watch. It's like trying to trying to grab some attention when the watch is already the best piece of jewellery on yr wrist. The end result is that it "cheapens" the look of the watch on yr wrist. Don't make sense at all.

Can't understand it either but as it is not my watch and not my wrist - I don't care.
Anything comes into contact with my watch and my heart rate doubles or misses a few beats.

Along those lines, I always CRINGED when shopping at an AD or watch store and the salesperson pulls out the watch with a bracelet and folds the bracelet under the watch head and lays it down... thus rubbing the clasp against the caseback. I see this a lot and always thought the sales staff must go through training that teaches them this is the proper way to display it. Now some are new pieces with a plastic sticker on the caseback, but not all still have sticker.

It's a cool look. Mayen not a SS bracelet next to any timepiece but some of the elephant leather ones aren't bad. I just don't think I could pull off the look myself, I'm more of a spiked cuff guy myself,

It seems like that whole bracelet next to the watch thing is for the younger generation. I see a lot of photos online with metal skulls rubbing against case sides, makes my o.c.d. spin up.
My AD staff have been trained to put on white gloves and use a cushioned pad when presenting a watch for you to consider. I have never seen a demo model there that didn't look like it just came out of the vault. He likely pays his staff higher than chain stores like Ben Bridge or others however. I certainly appreciate their approach as a customer. Jmho

Only a watch for me. My wife, sister, and mother all wear multiple bracelets with their watches. It drives me nuts...
