Very cool video! I doubt she'd get anywhere near what the auctioneer valued the collection as, but cool nonetheless

Yeah i know he did say retail value. I would say she would get around 25k for the lot. I think it was cool that her dad bought the datejust and the cartier in his late 60's.

What a great memento of her father that grouping is.

I know i wouldn't sell them. But i wonder why he didn't tell anyone he had them. Maybe he did not want his wife to know how much he was spending on them lol.

I think that parents sometimes leave little reminders around in your life that one day, when you get it, will make you remember them even more but maybe in a whole new light.

My father definitely did that to me. I found some things after his death that were simply remarkable and breathe taking. Things he would never have mentioned when he was alive, but now that he has gone, endear me even more to his memory.

Imagine that ladies surprise on learning how much effort (and cost) her father has gone to and the immense pleasure she must now derive from knowing about his little treasures. That's cool.

I would have kept the AP gubelin and the blancpain as they truly are nice watches. The rest would have been sold.

Again a reminder that tastes and fashions change quite quickly and something that is in vogue today which you are hoping to pass on to your kids would be hopelessly out of vogue in a couple of decades.
