Back in 2003, my wife saved up a couple of thousand and bought me a very nice Aerospace for Xmas (F75362).

In 2005, I lost the watch but luckily it was insured and we got the money back but I went and bought a Tag as a replacement.

It was definitely a bad move and I sold it on.

Currently watch-less, we have been over to Turkey a few times and laughed at all the "genuine fakes" that line the shops but we did visit the legit jewellers and looked at the genuine watches.

Current retail for the current model to the F75362 (E7936210) is £3150 but the jeweller there said they would discount the retail price and also it would be tax free when I get back to the airport and show my receipt.

The airport (Marmaris) is also now selling genuine Ling's but when I was last over there, we were late for the plane and didn't have time to have a proper look.

Has anyone any experience of buying tax free whilst on holiday, is there any genuine savings?

Hello and welcome to BreitlingSource! As an AD in a very, very touristic city, I work a lot with people who live outside of Europe and therefore don't have to pay VAT. VAT in Belgium is 21%, so this means that a non-European buying a watch in my shop, first pays the price VAT included and afterwards get the full 21% VAT back from me. So, to answer your question; it is a good deal if the VAT in the particular country is high enough. Don't know the VAT rate for Turkey, but I think it is quite low...
