Hi everyone

Hope you are all well and enjoying the summer! So just an update on where we last left of probably my last update for a wile since Its soon summer holiday and I will be going home but I will be going somewhere very interesting after the holiday after speaking with a CEO I will be having a meeting with them and hopefully getting a look into a unusual watch brand. But what have I been doing so far well its been a little mixed at the moment as we are closing in on the end of the course well not long left now, We have been studying and practising oiling of the escapement something that is very important and If its not done correct can effect the time keeping of the movement its always in watchmaking to work super clean and even more so near the escapement since any dust can drag away the oil and suck it up. So we do intensive training on clueing the components and oiling as well as the incabloc. Their are a few oils we use in servicing for different parts of the watch so its very important to apply the right oil in the correct quantity to the specifications. Next we have been studding the balance and static poising and fitting a new balance and removing the old one. Also as you can see from some of the photos today I got a Rolex that had a bit of super-Luminova that had come of and stuck to the Crystal probably was loose and when the watch was moved it come and stuck to the Crystal things like this can happen. For me it was good so the job was to un case the movement clean the dial,Crystal and case and then re case and do a water resistance test, each step is then quality controlled for dust. It was interesting to see inside the Rolex with its new movement with the parachrom hairspring and updated shock absorbers, This is something that only a few people get to see well watchmakers and a few others. People ask me whats the best watch and that like asking whats the best car its down to personal choice for what you want but for me Its Rolex for their design and build quality and their strive for perfection. Also a gift that Rolex sent me from geneva something that they don't do normally I was over the moon when it arrived. The photo of the Rolex movement staring to be disassembled is of a different Rolex caliber from a friend who works in Rolex service centre he showed me when I visited.. Its important to remember that everything I do is done in a fully equipped workshop and under supervision of trained teachers Just so people know because I have seen a few people on the internet having a go and damaging their watch.
Hope you liked the post
thanks Joe :) :)

So this is before the work was carried out and just under the hour hand you can see a line and that was what needed to be removed.

Very nice Joe. I'm surprised that you don't have a level on your poising table though?

We do but we take it of and we place it on the jaws instead to level it out. And we use the space more for storage of the leval instead of using it to leval it out their.
