Hi Guys.

So my wife purchased me a quartz Aquaracer for my birthday a little over three years ago from the mall by her office. The battery died this past Tuesday so I need to get it replaced. As i was looking through the paperwork I noticed the warranty card was not dated by the AD. I am assuming that Tag will have some record of when the watch was purchased and that the warranty card even though its undated wont help get the battery fixed?

Thanks

I'm pretty sure Tag would have no record of when a watch was sold unless the watch was registered with them post-sale....... which I assume it wasn't. (That's if Tag even has a registration system. I don't know, as I'm not a Tag expert).

But irrespective of that, I personally wouldn't expect the battery to be covered by the warranty anyway, so I think you'd be out of luck on that one.

Pretty standard for all brands to exclude battery coverage from a warranty because they are considered consumables.

Breitling cover battery replacement, if necessary, within the warranty period don't they? I thought that was the purpose of the little sticker with the month/year you see on the back of new quartzes, ie to advise the AD of the date point at which to replace the battery of a watch in stock in order for it to have good battery life when sold.

That's the purpose of the sticker, but that's different from warranty coverage. I'm not aware of a replacement battery being included in the warranty, although I'm not a quartz guy so that might not be saying much.
