I know its pretty awesome! every element of it is just spot on, the only thing I would change is give it a quick set date change, and a clasp.

Good dedication to a pioneering feat. A Beautiful watch now as it has always been and as it will always be. Not sure about the ceramic finish, but hey, it looks very smart.

I like the 44.25 coaxial in s/s a little better or the professional on leather, but the watch box for the DSM is way too big...............

I thought it was a very thorough presentation. I'm not crazy about ceramic finish but the 9300 movement is awesome.

I think a ceramic clasp would be extremely difficult to produce, I am satisfied with a ceramic pin buckle. I am amazed that they were able to reproduce the look of the Speedmaster case with brushed sides and polished edges in a ceramic case; quite an achievement imo. It's far nicer than the IWC ceramic cases which are matte black and have no finish work anywhere on the case, and certainly nicer than every PVD/DLC case that have been flooding the market over recent years.

Agreed.

It's a superb looking watch. I'd love to see a ceramic bracelet option on this one, but it looks great on the black canvas. It's a gorgeous piece in the flesh and I'd love to pick one up.

Since ceramic is somewhat brittle I wonder if a ceramic bracelet would be feasible. It would certainly be a cool look especially if it resembled the JLC articulated rubber bracelet style or the traditional speedmaster bracelet.

I'm still amazed that Omega made ceramic pushers, crown, buckle, and dial on this piece. Along with the bezel and case; I don't think any company has gone to that length with the use of ceramics. I would have loved to see them alter the 9300 movement to be entirely black, or a black rotor as Blancpain did with the Dark knight. That would have added to the overall theme but not a deal breaker for me.

Panerai have made a full ceramic bracelet on the PAM 438 Tuttonero, as have Chanel with the J12. The lack of the option for one on the Darkside of the Moon is certainly no deal-breaker, but I would've loved to have seen the classic Speedie bracelet made in ceramic.

I wouldn't necessarily call ceramic brittle, I used to have a Rado that was tough as hell, you couldn't scratch it obviously unless you really tried hard. Also I've dropped, banged into things and it never broke or "shattered"

Yes, from what I've gathered, the tales of brittleness of ceramic are a little over-egged. Yes if a ceramic watch is dropped from a sufficient height onto something hard enough, the type of damage the watch is likely to sustain is likely to be chip, a crack, or in the worst case a lug breaking off. However, what most people disregard is that the force required to do that would also cause very noticable damage to a steel-cased watch as well. Is a huge dent or a bent lug on a steel watch actually really any better than a cracked case on a ceramic one?

Personally I've never dropped a watch in my life, so potential brittleness never enters my head. Scratch resistance is far more important to me as the odds of getting scratches are infinitely more likely than dropping it IMO.

I wonder whatever happened to Isuzus ceramic cylinder block? That was supposed to be one tough engine. Maybe it's too expensive over cast iron
