I was in the market for a rose gold piece and recently tried on this maurice lacroix chronograph. but then I recently discovered an audmar piguet in stainless online that I am in love with. Certainly unusual. I think the ML is a little too conservative for me, but the AP is something I would need special glass for. I will back to my Optometrist every month for a check up if I wore this. The ML is definitely a usable watch and if the expressed notion of wearing a watch is to easily see the time then I think this one fulfils that function well. If it’s a fashion statement or something completely different that you are after, then the AP is the one. It’s a very confusing dial though, but I could imagine this being a real talking piece. In the end, it’s what you think is the best watch for you, that matter. Jim |

Whilst I'd normally pick the AP... for me the ML is the winner here. The AP is just far too odd and difficult to read. I can see loving it for a short time, but not wanting to hold onto it indefinitely. The ML is obviously more conservative and timeless. |

Between those two, I prefer the ML. The AP is to "unique" for my tastes, but I have a sneaking suspicion Roff will like it  . I'm not sure what the price range is on either of those pieces, but if you wanted something that bridges the gap, Glashutte Original makes some elegant, yet interesting pieces. |

Those are two rather polar-opposite designs there! The ultra conservative ML, vs the very unique AP. Personally I'd go for the AP every time....... but that's probably because I have enough other more conservative pieces to fill the conservative slot in my collection. For an everyday (or single) watch the AP may be slightly harder to live with...... but I probably would do for that design, and to own a piece by such a legendary brand. |
