If I had that to spend on a watch it would defiantly be a Rolex because they keep their value fairly well. The movement is 99.8% in house and value for money. Rolex aren't cheep watches when you get into some of their higher models like the Sky-dweller, Daytona. And again this is just my personal opinion :)

Yea but if you are looking for a watch over $20K, I wouldn't even glance at the Rolex mentioned above, unless you go for all gold version.

The all gold version is not within my budget, it would be awesome but i am not in a position to change the value as it would be very rude even suggesting the bonus was not good enough.
Why would you not consider this watch btw?

Well, you mentioned that you are a larger guy and liked the size of your 6.75 so the submariner is a much smaller size. Also, its value is less than $15K for a brand new one if I'm not mistaking. You could get a much better watch for $20K + as previously suggested by other members.

Given you've got a bigger wrist, have a look at some of the bigger AP Royal Oak Offshores (or ROO's as their known). Also Panerai's are unique in their styling, well suited to larger wrists (i.e. Sly Stallone, Schwarzenegger) and hold their value as well as, if not better than, Rolexes. Patek's are beautiful, but generally very dressy.
JLC make some nice sporty looking and larger watches, have a look at their website.

$23k is heading into Patek territory. I'd look at a Nautilus

Add another 12-13 k on that and try to get one from the AD and you're about there

If it were me I would consider used Rolex gmt2 c yellow gold or a rose gold Daytona used.

Just saw a Nautilus on chrono 24. Only a few years old, blue dial, exhibition back. $24k
May not be as big as you want, but it smokes anything else in that price range.

I have seen a couple used ones for that 25-27 range too. But personally I would not trust chrono 24. Even if the people have good ratings. I would only deal with a couple of Trf trusted sellers or an AD.

IMO the Patek especially your first should come from an AD. Just part of that experience.

The base Nautilus 5711 starts at $27K but you'll most likely never see one at an AD. All of them are usually sold well in advance.

Well I stand corrected. I could be wrong but it might have been thinking of Canadian pricing

Canadian pricing is in line with the US. Very little difference in nominal list price as US$ and C$ have been so close until recently.

Congrats, you can't go wrong with that. Not a "today" pic but my 23-year old model says hello

The durability and timelessness of the product is a big plus. But, shouldn't you have about 10K or so left in your budget? There is more to be done!

Thanks!
I was not at first but after hours of researching the comments i had in this thread i started to understand the brands more and most important the models.
I feel this was the right choice for me, not to dressy but still very good looking and i can wear it always .

This is one of the reasons why i got the submariner, yours look like new! makes me happy to think
that i might be able to use this watch for so many years :)

Also thank you to everyone else who helped me start to learning about watches i really appreciate it, i spent hours upon hours reading and watching youtube videos researching everything could find.
