Quotes come to mind

"No computer will ever need more than 640Kb memory"

"The world only needs a single computer"

Etc etc

Its easy to dismiss something that is in its infancy but I agree there will always be a (niche ?) market for high end jewelry/watches as long as they are 'hyped' as 'need to have to show yourself and others you are successful'

I think the iwatch could do well if it targets what existing luxury tech watches do but perhaps better, like weather, heart rate/heart attack monitor, emergency signals, altitude, navigation/plotting. I just don't think apple gets it at this point, I bet they focus on texts, NFC, mp3 and maybe heart rate/exercise. as someone said they are an innovation company that stopped innovating. That being said their laptops are very slick.
