Hello everyone, need a bit of advice. My watch trading buddy has offered me a mint, used Submariner Two Tone. It is the black face model. $4k. Is it worth it, and if I dont like it, can I sell it for that much or more (hopefully). I had a Seadweller for a short time, and was never pleased with it compared to how I feel about my Breitlings. Any and all input appreciated as I am a rookie in this field.

Don't know much about Rolies, but I think that is a fair price for a TT Sub.

$4K is a great price, especially if its all original and all paperwork, tags, and boxes are included.
You should have no problem selling a mint Submariner TT for more than $4K.

Thanks for all the replies. I picked the watch up today. It has the inner and outter box, no papers and no tag. The pillow is falling apart from what I am guessing is dry rot. The watch is mint, or near mint. He is a friend and I know it is legit and has been well cared for. However, it just does not have the appeal to me, the look, or the feel that a Breitling has. I am thinking about passing on it. Breitlings have spoiled me.

I'd too pass on it. No matter if he's a trusted friend or not - the missing papers will very costly when/if you'll want to sell it to the next guy. And even if you wouldn't think of selling it now, that might change. But, as you said, that seems not relevant at this point. :)

Thanks for all the help guys. I took the Rolex back to my friend and just as I closed that door, another one opened. I have been offered a Super Avenger, LNIB, blue face on a bracelet for under $3k. I think I will pull the trigger on that one....like I said earlier, Breitling has me hooked!
