I've searched a long time for this version of the superocean and have finally found and bought a decent blue version.

Since owning a blue 2005 version I've always been draw to this version, I don't think they made it for long but its definitely my favourite.

I like that too. Congrats. Interestingly I was just browsing chrono 24 and saw one of those. I was unfamiliar with that layout and had to confirm it was an actual model. That look must have had a short run.

It was a MY09/10 watch, available from autumn 2008 to spring 2010, so you would assume production from around spring 2008 to autumn 2009. It was retained for an overlap half-year (into 2010) alongside the new SO42 and SO45, which first appeared in March 2010.

It is sometimes colloquially called the ‘Transitional’, since it had elements of the old dial but the same hands as the all-new SO which succeeded it.

I have one in coral [i.e. orange], on black rubber, which I think very nicely de-blings it, and absolutely love it.

It's a great looking face to the watch and (in my opinion) a cleaner less cluttered as my other one.

The superocean script in red is a nice touch and the hands glow much brighter than my older one.

Don't think I've seen any other superocean's with the arrow head hour hand?

I'm also tempted to get a rubber strap, maybe the blue one but I'll have to have a look for one at the right price.

I've just ordered a new strap, the Breitling blue rubber version 148s.

My pro 2 has some small wear (no dings), was wondering if there is something I could use to polish the swirls out or is this something I should be asking my jeweller to carry out?

I have the black-faced version of this. Absolutely love it. I like the fact that the dial is less cluttered than the earlier iterations. The only thing about it I would have preferred would have been if the 12, 6 & 9 indices were lumed, but I can live with that. :)

Do you own the blue face and the black faced version?

The watch is awesome and yes a bit extra lume would have been great however the lume on the hands is nice and bright.

If I bought a pro 2 bracelet with the end links 811a, would I be able to use the bracelet part and fit my 131a links to it?

I'd like to have seen Breitling use this watch face with a coloured bezel like there new ones, current face has way too much going on.

No, I only have the black-faced one. Assuming it's a 20mm bracelet, I don't see why the end links shouldn't be interchangeable. However as you already have the watch on a Pro 2 bracelet with the correct 131A end links, I'm not sure why you're asking, unless you want the other as a spare and/or to keep the original in pristine condition.

Hi, apologies, I saw your other picture of you watch with the rubber strap and the face looked slightly blue on my phone, also it has the anti reflecting coating on both sides of the glass.
My pro 2 bracelet is a little bit scuffed at the bottom and the clasp isn't as crisp as if like (I'm a little fussy ).
Has your rubber strap has a polished or brushed buckle?

Do you prefer the bracelet or the rubber strap?

Lastly do you interchange the strap yourself?

Yes, the crystal does look slightly blue in some lights due to the AR coating. I bought the Pro 2 rubber strap from the same person I bought the watch from (on another forum) a week or so later, along with a pair of silver Breitling cufflinks. It was brand new unused, and has a polished buckle.

To be honest, I only tried it on the rubber once, for a single day, then went back to the bracelet. There's nothing wrong with the strap, it's just my personal preference. I've always preferred metal bracelets over rubber or leather straps. I did change it myself, but you do need to correct spring bar tool if you are to avoid scratching the lugs. I bought a Bergeon 6767-F for that purpose.
