well Basel this year was a bit of a mixed bag, some very nice improvements with most of the launches, one! really new technical development - and not in horology but transmitters and power supplies, on the other side some unbelievably ugly BB behemoth.

here is a piece from what probably was the greatest Basel fair Breitling ever had, launching (one of) the world's first automatic chronograph movements, the first automatic Dive Chronograph - and a range of impressive, gutsy, bold new watch designs - among them the TransOcean chronographs, 2119 (later 2129) with the Cal. 11 Breitling/Heuer/Bueren automatic micro-rotor chronograph movement.

44 years old, still quite impressive - and huge for the period with a width of 42mm.

some nice sunlight in Vienna today, so grabbed some pics, hope some of you will enjoy them !

The crisp vintage watch, the shirt, the bomber jacket--always impeccable, Fred.

I exhausted the superlatives a long time ago with your collection Fred but I honestly can't remember anything which tops that for me: absolutely, stone-me, mouth-open, dribble-down-the-chin, scroll-back-up-to-look-at-the-pics-again-and-again stunning.

That is such a good looking piece!

Oh for a 21st century left hand crown version...

They'd probably make it 48 mm and 16 mm thick.

Is that the OEM bracelet or aftermarket? the reason I ask is the finish on it basically looks brand new. The watch was a whole is noce but that is what grabbed me.

These came with the integrated bracelets Thomas. Could be that some of these pieces came from the Old World Jewelers NOS collection awhile back, and they just stayed on the careful loving wrists of collectors over the years.

BTW another one for the books. Again. :lingsrock:

thank you guys. just imagine how the Baselworld 2013 launches would look if Breitling had a similar passion for it's heritage to Omega ......

Thomas, as Andrew has said, the bracelets were integrated OEM; just like the case, massive and of outstanding build quality. My two TOC have both probably been worn very little and handled with respect by the previous owners, but the bracelets would survive much harsher treatment.

Here's a pic of the bracelet of a 7102, same case:

Very nice Fred! The sharp angles and detailed brushed finishing makes me think of the faceted pilot bracelet on the BB. Very crisp looking

I recently decided that of all the watches stolen from me in 2011 this is the one i want to replace. In the process of saving for it now. If you ever want to sell, Fred, let me know!

Hi,
who put the Dugena hands on the Breitling?
I reckon the date disc should have red letters?
Cheers
