I would like to see if anyone knows anything about this watch? It is 25mm amazing in person, 18th century. These pictures are reduced pixel I have the 10meg versions for zoom use. This belongs to a friend of mine and we are trying to put a price to it. Anyone seen one of these before? It is supposed to have a Patek Philippe movement. I was told, don't know, that Tiffany used there movements in the late 1800's. Anyway it is an amazing piece. Best, Mark ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Thanks, I was hoping you would pick up on this one. I looked in my books and didn't find anything that matched. Close but that doesn't count. Thank you for your help. Best, Mark |

The Tiffany / Patek collection is definitely true. I have a few books that cover this period so I'll try and look this evening, just didn't have much time last night. |

OK, here's what I have....... Tiffany started a watch company in 1874, but it only lasted for about 4 years with very low production numbers. After that PP took over the management of the factory and then Tiffany brought PP to the states in 1885. However, Tiffany watches were also made by Elgin, Waltham, AP and IWC. This is Swiss without a doubt and I think it's a PP, in which case it's 1895. It is not a documented model in any of my books, and I am very nervous to value it because of the diamonds and enamelling. A hunter case PP of this size in this condition is going to be a $2,500 watch - but this is obviously worth more because of the decoration - I think that this needs a professional appraisal - at least for the jewellery elements. Additionally, this is a one off, and as such is going to command a premium. If you are thinking about selling then you should discuss with Sothebys / Christies / Antiquorum - their fees are high, but this is in their bailliwick. |

Thanks for the information. I called Tiffany and they charge 1500.00 to apraise it and it is 2-6 mo. turnaround. I think I will contact Christi's as you suggested. It is owned by a friend and he wanted to see if we could find out any more about it. Here are a couple dial shots. Thanks again I will keep you all up to date. I am as curious as you. A special thanks to Roff for your time. Best Mark ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Let me know if he does decide to sell - this would be a bit out of the norm for me, but I might be interested - depending on what Christies say and at the least a private sale at appraisal value will save commissions. $1,500 for an appraisal is ludicrous! |

I have quite a few old time pocket watches that were handed down through the family. I just wanted to say that is absolutely stunning! Your friend is very lucky... I am looking forward to reading more in this topic. |

This this Tiffany is worth $5,800, then yours must be worth like 4 times as much! |

That's also a pretty rare key wind / key set - they were becoming more uncommon by the late 1800s. Date on that one is way off - it's at least 25 years later than claimed. |
